Little reminder of the risk of blind reliance on ATRQs. Client just refreshed EValue form. Previously Cautious to Moderate. ONE RESPONSE changed from "tend to agree with this statement" to "in between". Up a whole category and mapping onto 80/20 instead of 60/40. Mental.

@SenseSimon It does seem their plan, but then what? New blood can print money in other professions with little regulation. Very little incentive in financial advice. I love this profession, but if I knew what I know now, and was starting again…..

I have a new client joining me from SJP. They have asked me for a copy of my firms 'Conflicts of Interest Policy' document! This is a first (never been asked in 20 years). SJP has really taught them to not trust anyone!

@moneychimp It’s exhausting. Add the cost of it all and I’m not surprised the adviser pool is dwindling. Experienced good guys had enough. Young talent are better off making chunks, with minimal regulation, in group benefits or similar.

In what other industries are the good actors, the good practice ambassadors, with growing markets and happy customers, made to feel existentially threatened every second of every day?

@dontdelay I found the same watching a SW webinar. I do a lot of these and focus on the basics - why save/compound interest/where does your money go. We offer more detailed webinars for the high earners & those closer to retirement

Watching a workplace pension providers webinar aimed at their members. (Mrs Hearne outsourced this one) All very good, all very accurate, but my god it will be baffling to most. Explaining tapered annual allowance, carry forward, and money purchase annual allowance, is unlikely to effect many. But I fear it will switch off those that just need to understand why they should save a bit more.

Fold more when your opponent has all the advantages. The LJ opens and you defend in the BB. You check and they bet ~75% pot. You should fold here because this is a much better board for your opponent. They have all the advantages (equity, nuts & position).

@garryhale AI exists in a lot of places. Loom use for writing an overview/title etc. AI integration on Zoom for recording/transcript. As for full-power suitability reports etc, it’s a no.
