substack’s open tab is a masterclass in new media - documents the changing landscape of decentralised + individual media in real time featuring the people at the frontier which is a unique pov others don't have access to - great curation of guests with a high audience market cap (h/t @anuatluru) leading to more high value people thinking about writing - builds narrative + proof for independent media as a viable/good life path (which is obv good for substack) - leverages creators’ existing audience & the natural curiosity around their process (everyone wants to know how things are made + the process - esp now with ai) - done in a homely/friendly format (neighbourhood bar/cafe) & executed brilliantly by @omnivorousread who was at a16z previously so good

There's a podcast payments feature on Substack where you can insert an 'audio paywall' in at any point of the episode. Does anyone else do this? It has been driving hella $$$ for podcasters on Substack.
