@Vote4Tony2022 @fordnation Starving education to pay social services is a stunt any government can pull. But once you’re in the realm of medicine, you’re more likely to have science onside. Autism is a highly treatable neurologically based disorder that belongs in the realm of medical science.

@alexbrown17 Personal agency, world in palm, systems of discourse and economy that value instead of deter and punish excellence, …freedom to do no harm and freedom to take no shit. These are the sensibilities I miss most since returning to canada. I respect the choice to split.

"If you had told me growing up that one day I’d be planning to leave Canada, I would have thought you were crazy. "I never imagined we’d be let down like this. I don’t even recognize my country anymore. We’re starting the application process for Japan. I admire their standards."

For all the moms on here, let’s consider what we were doing 2.5 months after having a baby. I’ll go 1st, beyond immediate baby care, taking a shower was a sign of a highly successful day. @PWHL_Toronto
Ben Steiner@BenSteiner00

Natalie Spooner wins the PWHL scoring title in the inaugural season. She gave birth to her son on Dec. 6, 2022, and didn't return to hockey until Feb. 24, 2023. She scored 20 goals and 7 assists in 24 games this season for PWHL Toronto

@DrNancyFreeman YES!! Busch and Bailey nailed necessity of minimum competencies for implementers and minimum supervision by Behavior Analysts for a Safe professional regulatory system. They also nailed reciprocity/portability throughout North America.

@Vote4Tony2022 @fordnation Painful. People with disabilities do not enjoy the same basic protections and rights that non-disabled Canadians do. their families can’t sleep, can’t work full time, have more stress and related medical problems...The cascade of disability is a series of CHARTER violations

I lay awake at night terrified of when I’m gone who will take care of my Twin Autistic children with profound needs. The way @fordnation and company have been slashing supports and services for people with disabilities is disgusting and unacceptable. #60kisnotok #onpoli

@Vote4Tony2022 @fordnation Yeah the government, no matter who is in power, and no matter whether the provider is public or private, should have pinpoints and explicit contingencies. That is the beauty of science. So helpful when determining efficacy and malpractice.

Hey Ontario, did you know that @fordnation hired a private insurance company to run the Ontario Autism Program and it’s epically failing thousands of autistic people while blowing through millions of dollars on administrative costs? #70kisNotOk #AutismDoesntEndAtFord #Onpoli

@GBCollege the GBC students doing placement at my workplace were mislead by GBC. Turns out they will not be able to become RBTs and BCaBAs (an internationally portable credential) with their GBC education. Institutional con artistry is UGLY. Give them their money back.

I grew up reading the Toronto Sun. I even had a subscription that arrived to my high school dorm. Proud to be making my first appearance in a major Canadian newspaper. But particularly this one. OPINION: Beware of Liberal gifts in 2024 | Toronto Sun torontosun.com/opinion/column…

@alexbrown17 So well written as always, Alex. Though I never knew him, I’m sure the og CB would be so proud. You nailed it. There’s a big circle jerk going on while the rest of us are slow dancing in a burning room. (Pardon my inability to match your eloquence and style)

@juderich59 @StandingHannah children with autism demonstrate relative strengths in the mastery of object permanence. delays with object permanence are caused by intellectual ability rather than by an autistic effect. AND kids learn skills when they are effectively taught, regardless of label.

@JaimeBCBA @TheDaily_BA A requirement of APBA accredited programs is to maintain a BACB exam pass rate of minimum 60% . So Ontario programs can never be APBA accredited because their grads can’t take the exam anyway. The Ontario ivory tower “experts” fucked up so badly. Do your homework.

@ontariobcbeh @TheDaily_BA Interesting take. Pretty sure both of the universities currently providing ABA programs would qualify for accreditation. The only one that wouldn't is the M. ADS program because it's course based

Whats everyone think of this APBA accreditation pathway? I believe ABA professional orgs are uncoordinated and off the mark. We need solutions to a lot of things and building the same things already built adds unnecessary confusion and is a waste of resources. #behaviortwitter

@JaimeBCBA @TheDaily_BA BACB examination pass rates are a part of the accreditation process. Considering no one from Ontario will be able to apply to take the exam because of the poor decisions that have been made without the support of certificants, ON is useless for education in the field.

@TheDaily_BA Misread your post. You're absolutely right. With that being said though, a lot of programs are still being excluded from accreditation because of their format. Such as not requiring a thesis and being course based. APBA helps with that

@TheDaily_BA Absolutely.U’ll blow chunks when u get a load of what is going on in ON.”Behavior analyst” has been hijacked by a bunch of ivory tower psychologists and wannabes, so we can’t keep our BCBA cred after 2026-even if we are from ABAI accredited progs.insular political BS+microdick

@TheDaily_BA @JaimeBCBA The ed progs in ON fear that they can’t meet the standards as the standards move toward ABAI accreditation standards. I suspect ON prog leads are hoping they can jump on the APBA bus to buy time. Fact is ON doesn’t have programs in behavior analysis. Just VCS w/in soft sci progs.

@JaimeBCBA @TheDaily_BA Are you saying that the College of Psychologists of Ontario will be accepting coursework from APBA accredited programs as a formal education component within one of its pathways to registration (licensure) in the province? It’s not on the CPO page- where is this info?

@TheDaily_BA It's an alternative for places where the BACB is no longer providing credentials, or for programs that no longer qualify. Motivation for accreditation is there, but there is no availability.
