Chillingham Road Primary school had a problem with pavement parking (and driving). Last year I installed 2 benches. They were well received. So I fundraised for more benches and planters. Now it's a safe space for everyone to use. @ChilliRoad #tacticalurbanism

These ‘parklets’ were indeed meant for the local community. Hackney Council recently changed their purpose making them exclusive to customers. With no real benefit to the locals these spaces now only benefit a limited, non diverse clientele. Gentrification in action.

We're implementing the largest expansion of Sammy’s Law in city history: lowering speed limits to 15 MPH at every eligible school by the end of our first term. And we’re not waiting to get started. This year, we’re lowering speed limits at 800 additional locations to 15 MPH, bringing the citywide total for School Slow Zones to nearly 1,300 by the close of 2026. New York City’s streets should be the safest in the world - especially for kids - and City Hall is using every tool at our disposal to make that a reality as quickly as possible.

You are welcome to advance another explanation for increasing congestion and reduced average bus speeds, than cycle lanes and LTNs. Traffic fell, yet congestion went up, post-2020. So this is policy-caused - share your analysis. It would seem unconscionable to deliberately increase time spent on the road such that it eats into the sleep of working drivers with passengers.
