From our country’s beginning, for as long as America has embodied freedom and exceptionalism, the soul of our nation has been rooted in the Christian faith. Today we gather, as our forefathers did on this day centuries ago, to rededicate our nation to God.

I can’t agree with this enough, and I’m a left brain addict dabbling in the other side of my skull. Imo, dispensational conservatives have functionally abandoned access to the transcendentals via general revelation.
Marcus Pittman@ImKingGinger

I have an analogy for why conservative investment in the arts and culture is so bad and how to fix it. Imagine you're a chef seeking capital to build a restaurant. No one asks to taste your food. They want spreadsheets and assume the quality of the food equals the quality of the spreadsheets. The problem is that anyone can use AI to generate business plans, costs, projections, and polished decks. This is just math, and AI excels at it. It has recently become a low-skill priority for conservative investors. Meanwhile, AI cannot cook the food, smell it, or taste it. That is the product customers buy. Art is usually done well by right-brained people who see unrealized value through gut instinct and take risks. Venture capital is run by left-brained math and finance nerds who see value only in past data. They are human calculators focused on lower risk and do not predict markets the way artists do. Both are equally important. A great chef hires a GM so he can focus on the product. But spreadsheet numbers will never differentiate your food. For startups, they are always made up anyway. Leftist investors always taste the food. What needs to happen in the conservative venture world is recognition of their left-brained weakness. Hire creative talent scouts who wander the streets, find the source of that incredible smell, recognize the talent, and work with artists to monetize their instinct. The studios used to call this talent incubation, and it built Hollywood as we know it. AI is really good at the left-brain stuff. It will never be able to determine whether food is good from taste and smell. It can't be reminded of grandma's casserole. But these are real-world value metrics—completely intangible on a spreadsheet. So we need venture funds with left-brain and right-brain teams working together to scout and invest in new creative ideas that can't be replicated by the most expensive venture software.

For some reason the only tweets of mine that get blessed by the algorithm are Norm Macdonald posts. This has turned me into a Norm stan account. The algorithm has chosen... So here is a photo of Norm Macdonald.

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were not shocked by a talking serpent. I think there will be a time in human history, possibly soon, with the help of AI, we won't be shocked by talking animals anymore and might even have conversations with our Dog, like Pixar's Up!

Oh my gosh to the dumb dudes posting an unflattering still shot of Lupita from 12 Years a Slave to supposedly prove she's not pretty. Stop it. She's obviously attractive (to my mind, she's very beautiful). That's not what this is about.

For the record, I think Lupita Nyong’o is incredibly beautiful. I mean she has a nearly perfect face. The issue is that Helen of Troy was Greek and described as fair and Musk is almost certainly correct that Nolan changed her race to fulfill the new diversity standards the Academy requires. And we should whine about that. It’s death to art.

I know the answer to this. Worked within the industry. People don't believe me when I tell them. But it's because charity and non profits have ruined the Christian arts by separating them from capitalist Ii incentives. Same reason communism makes terrible art.
Carlos That Notices Things@QuetzalPhoenix

Nobody gives more to charity than conservative Christians, why are they so bad at funding the arts? Either right wingers are all retarded or basically any and all "art" is secretly produced by government agencies

@ImKingGinger This is such an important point Marcus. I create slow burn mystery thriller films and the algorithm constantly pushes against that style. Story suffers when you optimize for retention triggers instead

Colorado is once again leading with our values. A new ranking named Colorado the second-best state for animals, recognizing our strong pet ownership, animal protection, and conservation efforts. That’s no accident. It reflects who we are as Coloradans: we care for our pets, protect wildlife, and work to build a state where animals and people can thrive. Our dog Gia thinks we are number one already, don’t tell her 🤫 I’m proud that we’ve continued that work by signing HB26-1011, which helps stop the puppy mill pipeline by ending the sale of dogs and cats in pet stores, and HB26-1229, which recognizes the human-animal bond as an important part of health and well-being. smilehub.org/blog/best-stat…
