At Glastonbury yesterday, a band called for “inshallah, from the river to the sea.” The crowd cheered. When I hear that phrase chanted with joy, I feel fear and - whoever you are - so should you. Most people don’t understand what it means. But it’s been used for decades by those who want to erase Jews from where their language, faith & indigenous culture began. A place that was meant to offer refuge when the rest of the world shut its door. I’ve spoken out against injustice & unbearable loss. I’ve made work about the ‘Nakba’ & the ongoing trauma of Palestinians. But “from the river to the sea” doesn’t call for peace. It calls for a world without Jews. You can stand for Palestinian rights without denying Jewish ones. You can oppose a government without wishing away a people. If your activism leaves no room for someone else’s safety, grief or history it’s not activism. It’s hate.

Over the last few days we have set the record for the most amount of money raised by an individual for the @mindcharity in one event/challenge. £143,000 raised, genuinely so grateful. Surreal moment for me and my family. Thank you so much for believing in me and this challenge ❤️ Going to do a few posts tomorrow, thanking people and talking about the challenges and emotions. MARATHON COMPLETED 🫡 Today I completed something that 5 months ago I would never of thought possible. 42.2km (26.2 miles), my first ever marathon completed and have raised £23,800 pounds for mind charity. Did I cry, yeah about 40 times but to run with over 100 people with many inspirations today was incredibly surreal and helped massively to overcome the challenge. Thank you to everyone who came down today and helped spread awareness for mental health and to @hardestgeezer for changing my life!!! MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS

Some people saying council tax should be based on the services used. I'm not sure that's thought through. If taxes were based solely on what you get out, the poorest would pay the most, the richest the least (as they do most things privately). In fact they wouldn't be taxes it'd be a series of service charges. Instead tax is the cost of living in a legitimate civil society. By contributing towards the common good, you hopefully live in a more contented society (less civil unrest to start with) which means when people need support they get some.

@IsabelOakeshott The NHS saved my life. If people think it's not good enough, it should be better funded and staff better paid so that the NHS can recruit and retain staff. The NHS is being attacked by those who want to privatise it = taking money away from care into shareholders' pockets.
