What Alberta Separatism would actually look like even if it was possible constitutionally (which it isn’t): 1. Oil sands would almost entirely remain in Canada along with all Treaty 8 territory. I would love for someone to explain how any other result is even possible (it isn’t). 2. Upwards of 20 percent of the population would leave immediately, most of these being educated professionals from urban/suburban areas. 3. The remaining “Albertans” would be left to scratch together a military, a pension system, a diplomatic settlement ice and international agreements, and thousands other things the federal government already does and pays for. 4. Chaos, cronyism, and fighting over the scraps. Everyone who can leave will leave. 5. Then would come the clambering to return to the edenic garden of Canada and people pretending to have never supported separation in the first place.

Agreed with @MichelleRempel. Even as a central Canadian, the Brexit comparisons feel more like a condescension against aggrieved Albertans to me, rather than acknowledging the role Ottawa played in inviting division, or proposing solutions that address fair concerns. #cdnpoli

Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner calls on PM Mark Carney to show more humility, saying he delivered the wrong tone in comments on AB separation this morning. Says he needs to start delivering hope and not fear.

@echipiuk Does Alberta have its own distinct language and culture? Canada was basically founded by France and England. Who was Alberta “founded” by?

Sorry if I hurt your feelings…. I am not the only one who is bitching….look around and you will see tents cities everywhere…food banks line up more and more … 200grams of steak in groceries is about $40 dollars… If you can afford to buy a home then you’re a lucky one ….liberals added 5 years more to pay your mortgage…from 25 years to 30 years and you will pay less… Anyway….don’t forget your property tax….CRA will be happy to send you a letter that if you don’t pay they will send a sheriff and take your home…. Say hello to your freedom ….and by the way get boosters every 90 days against c 19 because liberal science said….and if you don’t then you’re anti science…. Have a good wake up!

@Phokse_Guy @StayFreeAlberta They skipped over that, they don’t want compromise, only control. If they lose, they’ll go “this is a tyranny of the majority, accept our position!” They can assume the position.

It spiked up just before Harper was elected and faded for the next 15 years, but with Trudeau and their failed policies towards Alberta has lit the fire again. It probably would have been quashed again if Pollievre had been elected, but Carney flipped the script and instead of bleeding off that pressure it has continued rising. It’s not going to be bled off this time with no election in sight due to Liberal Chicanery. During Quebec’s referendum to leave, the provinces and the federal government bent over backward to alleviate their grievances, but this time every province except for Saskatchewan has basically told Alberta to fuck off, and now you have Carney, the Liberals and MSM scolding us and deriding our politicians. This isn’t putting the fire out, it’s fanning the flames, basically proving what Alberta’s grievances are. That our opinions are irrelevant and we don’t need to be accommodated

It was always going to come to this eventually. People were wrong to expect that Alberta would act as a piggy bank for Ontario and Quebec indefinitely.

Look UAE and others… We have way enough resources to keep running the whole North America for thousands of years… Now as a good modern slave after paying income tax and the rest of your money paying tax in everything you buy and sell (including every year property tax) donate it to Ukraine because their fight is your fight… 🤡

@mrowley1987 Fun fact: @AndrewScheer and @PierrePoilievre had multiple chances to get the Snowbirds new planes and failed. The CPC had majority terms to figure out planes and didn’t. So we’re doing it now. None of this has any bearing on Alberta’s place in Canada.

Canada is so broken that the Snowbirds will not be able to keep flying. Is there a better picture of the state of our country? Independence is the only way out for Alberta.

I was never a separatist, because I was not interested in politics, nor Canada's history. Once I looked under the hood, I could see how Canada is pieced and held together with fake and fraudulent agreements made in the dark. Alberta Independence could be the start of refederation.

First charging stop of the morning done! We are up to a 2,000km streak on FSD V14.3.3 - some of that is from before the coast to coast trip started! For anyone doubting FSD - don’t… it’s incredible how good it is, especially for road trips like this. I couldn’t imagine ever doing a drive like this without it. Also just have to say - every single charge stop along the way with bathroom breaks, grabbing food, and just wanting to stretch your leg - the car has been ready to go well before we are. @scotsrule08 @DavidMoss
