God made a promise to Israel, Israel failed, and God moved on. Gave the promise to someone else. Replaced the original with an upgrade? Is that really the character of Christ? If you believe it, you have a bigger problem than eschatology. You have a God who walks away. Think about what Christ actually did. He came to Israel. His own people. They rejected Him. They handed Him to Rome. They shouted “crucify Him.” By every measure of the “conditional promise” argument, that was the moment God should have been done. The condition was broken as definitively as it could possibly be broken. The chosen people rejected the Son of God to His face. And what did Christ do? He died for them anyway. On the cross He prayed “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” He didn’t say “Father, transfer the covenant. They failed the condition.” He said forgive them. After the resurrection, He didn’t go to Rome. He didn’t go to the gentiles first. He appeared to His Jewish disciples. He sent them to Jerusalem first. The character of Christ pursues, forgives, restores, and keeps His word even when the other party breaks theirs. That is the entire Gospel. If God’s faithfulness depended on human performance, every one of us would be lost. Not just Israel. All of us. If God replaced Israel for failing the condition, He would have replaced Peter for denying Him. He would have replaced you for every sin you’ve committed since the day you believed. He would have replaced me. God does not break covenants. He fulfills them. He extends them. He grafts in new branches without cutting off the root. Romans 11:18. “Do not be arrogant toward the branches. It is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.”

The Reformation was not a denominational squabble. It was a war over whether you needed an institution’s permission to access God. The Reformers said no. They said the Word of God is sufficient. They said the Holy Spirit guides believers into truth. They said Christ is the only mediator. And they paid for that conviction with their lives. That is what this country was founded on. Soul liberty. Be proud of your faith. Understand its history and what it has given the world.

As the world watches and waits for events overseas, don't forget to keep an eye on the homeland as well. No overseas war should take precedent over the clear and present dangers to the domestic United States, and these days, there are a lot of those. Mason Bridge was closed for over 5 hours while the high-angle rescue was being conducted. The driver was uninjured and refused medical treatment at the scene. The cause of the accident is not known. Minnesota: Locals have reported ICE operations beginning in Minneapolis, as a few illegals from Somalia have been arrested over the past few days. Analyst Comment: This may or may not be the beginning of a larger campaign; ICE agents have been conducting low-level operations in Minneapolis for months now, so it's not clear as to if the arrests that have been made recently are part of that routine effort, or part of a much larger campaign. Either way, resistance throughout the city is significant as Somalis form a more cohesive effort to halt the enforcement of immigration law. Maryland: This afternoon a shooting was reported at the food court inside MGM National Harbor casino in Prince George County. One person was killed and another wounded during the attack. Local authorities state that the shooting was targeted, and that the shooter sought out the victim personally. No further details on the shooter or the motive have been released. The food court at the casino remains closed while the murder investigation continues, but the rest of the casino is open as usual. California: On Monday an arson attack was carried out in Los Angeles, which took the form of an assailant using multiple Molotov devices to attack the Los Angeles Federal Building (LAFB). Per the notice provided by DHS officials yesterday, the man approached the facility and threw two Molotovs at the security guards outside the facility, before being detained. Neither device functioned as designed, and the suspect was arrested at the scene. Yesterday the DOJ identified the suspect as Jose Francisco Jovel, a resident of Koreatown. Analyst Comment: As arson attacks remain fairly constant nationwide during times of heightened unrest, the use of fire as a weapon is becoming more of a concern for the prepared citizen. Molotovs are a common sight in Los Angeles at this point, however this man attempted to use his devices to immolate two security officers posted at the entrance to the facility. Nebraska: A series of shootings were reported in Omaha this morning. The first incident began around noon when a Hispanic male shot a White male while he was shopping at a small grocery store near 30th Street and Ames Avenue. The license plate of the getaway car used by the suspect was noted during that shooting, which led to that vehicle being located later, several miles south of the initial crime scene. Police noted the suspect pulling in to a Quick Trip gas station, going inside the restroom at the convenience store. When the suspect exited the restroom, a small arms engagement broke out between the suspect and police. Two officers were shot, and a third wounded by shrapnel. The suspect was killed during the engagement. The status of the initial victim (who was shot at the grocery store) is not known, but he was shot several times in the chest by the suspect. Illinois: Controversy has erupted following the re-hiring of an illegal immigrant to the police force in Hanover Park. Officer Radule Bojovic was originally arrested by ICE on October 15th on multiple charges. Bojovic had fraudulently gained entry to the United States on a tourist visa from Montenegro, knowing that he was going to work as a police officer. He also overstayed this tourist visa, which prompted the initial arrest. At the time Bojovic was working as a police officer in Hanover Park, and was immediately fired once it became clear that he is a criminal. However, ICE did not deport him immediately, and instead let him go with a court date for his trial. After he was released back into the United States, Hanover Park immediately re-hired him (even though he is still an illegal immigrant awaiting his trial). -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Per long-standing immigration law, illegal immigrants are not allowed to remain in the United States, and they are certainly not allowed to carry a firearm. This is the de facto standard for every single nationstate on Earth. Nevertheless, this illegal immigrant, who violated the terms of his immigration paperwork will not only be allowed to carry a gun, but use that gun during his daily duties. Unlike every other case of a police officer facing criminal charges, he is not on administrative leave and he did not return to his old job after a leave of absence. He was fired initially, but re-hired by the city knowing that he was facing criminal charges. Despite the egregious nature of this behavior all around, the city claims that ICE never told him he couldn't stop working, so they rehired him. He was also given backpay for the time he spent in ICE detention. If this version of the story is true, it's on the feds for not enforcing the law and releasing him from custody, instead of immediate deportation. Either way, games are being played all around, and the letter of the law doesn't matter quite as much as it used to for situations like this.
