@LukeEdwardsTele @leecarty8 Luke, all of these arguments to sack Howe centre around the fact that we can get someone better and that he’s incapable of learning from adversity and coming back stronger. One poor window does not undo Tripps/Burn/Pope/Bruno/Tonali/Isak/Botman/Tino/Hall/Barnes/Gordon

@LukeEdwardsTele @DavyBaty81 I wonder which brilliant manager is going to be attracted to a job where you have to sell your best player each year for the next 2/3 seasons until we catch commercial income levels up. Part of the club’s current model is to develop players and needs a coach who can do that.

@DavyBaty81 When was the last Newcastle manager to qualify for the Champions League twice and win a domestic cup competition?

@SiClancy Offside. Handball, VAR…...they’re sucking all the joy out of the beautiful game. It’s meant to be an entertainment for the fans I believe?!

VAR checks should be capped at 90 seconds. If it’s not *clear and obvious* in that time then it’s not clear and obvious. Anything else is just ridiculous. And now we have someone whose nose is offside? What are we even doing? Just get in the sea.

@AliceTalksFooty Unreal how no one is now talking about Peter Banks, his “team” and their overall “performance” tonight. Words fail anyone of integrity

Ramsey was probs unlucky to get a second yellow when you consider the fact Joelinton did not get one, or Burn didn't get sent off🤣 Joelinton and Burn offences so much worse. This ref ahahahha

Why is it taking so long to check? I’m confused it’s a blatant red right? or am I being biased here?

An offside goal wrongly allowed to stand, a few good penalty shouts waved away and a blatant red card not given. Apart from that, an excellent half from the officials.

Monaco or Qarabag in the playoffs for #NUFC. Monaco a nice trip in March if that where we go. Little tip - stay in Nice & get the train along the French Riviera for 25 mins to Monte Carlo. Much cheaper & not a bad commute to the match!

Eddie Howe got that spot on in Paris tonight. #nufc marvellous given all they’re up against (inc. the ref) Take one of those chances & we’re through. As it stands… play offs it is. I fancy our chances.

Chelsea Newcastle best game of the season so far IMO. It had the lot. If you are calling for a penalty for a shoulder barge then seriously go and watch netball. I thought the ref had a good game tbh.

@p4ptg @AnythingLFC_ Lesson for all footballers: if you’re signing a long deal, especially six years, make sure there’s a release clause. And if you agree something with someone, get it in writing. Verbal promises mean nothing when the club changes its mind.

@stat_man2 @AnythingLFC_ I had read that, but don’t think it helps him…..what do you think “appropriate replacement costs” might be for a player conservatively valued at £130M?

@p4ptg @AnythingLFC_ He’s a post I did on article 17 that he might find interesting.
stat man@stat_man2

How could Alexander Isak Leave Newcastle under Article 17? ⚖️ The Rule: Under FIFA’s Article 17 (amended after the 2024 Lassana Diarra case), players under 28 can unilaterally terminate their contract after serving three years at a club. Isak (25) joined Newcastle in August 2022, meaning he becomes eligible in summer 2025 and can invoke the clause within 15 days after the 2025-26 season ends (early June 2026). He’d then be a free agent when the transfer window opens (July 1, 2026) . 💰 Compensation: Newcastle would receive compensation, but it’s far below market value. Based on the "positive interest" principle (factoring in wages, residual contract value, and replacement costs) FIFA aims to avoid punitive measures that restrict player mobility . ⏳ Timeline & Risks for Newcastle: · The process could take 18-24 months to resolve if disputed, but Isak could play for his new club immediately . · Newcastle risks losing leverage: A disgruntled Isak could harm team morale, and his market value might drop if he underperforms ahead of the 2026 World Cup . 🎯 Isak’s Leverage: This rule explains his aggressive stance (public statements, skipping training). While he hasn’t explicitly threatened Article 17, it’s a viable escape route if no transfer occurs this summer. However, it’s a last resort due to professional risks (e.g., reputation damage, World Cup prep) . 💡 Why This Matters: Newcastle must decide: Sell now for £100m+ or risk losing him for less later. With the transfer window closing soon (Sept. 1) time is runninng out
