@ConorNeu If you just say “no” every time wouldn’t you be right way more often than 86% of the time?

I'm personally invested in a company that can tell you whether you will have a heart attack in the next 12 months. With 86% certainty. From a blood test. Unreal value. They are weak at scaling. Someone please buy this and take it to the masses.

The @MongoDB site has a toggle where you can choose if you're a developer or a not-developer, and the site content changes based on which you pick. Inventive, I will give them that

@matsonj I’m doubtful this will work in practice, though it’s very aspirational (and the right architectural approach) The reason being last mile consumption that fundamentally exists outside of SQL is very relevant to the agents ability to answer questions (e.g. looker table calcs)

If you remove the United States and India, I'm left with 5% of my followers. Does the rest of the world not care about data engineering?

why are ai companies so afraid to increment major versions? Just do it. Numbers are meaningless. Just change them.

@chrisalbon IMO this is most important for CI/CD vs developing code itself. You rarely spend time installing new packages, but you wait on CI/CD to run every time you deploy anything. Even a minute or two saved in CI is money

It seems to me this is the least useful feature of uv. But maybe I am not seeing something.

Genuine question. I like uv, and obviously it’s way faster, but is this really a major benefit in absolutely terms. Like, will your software development experience by that much better saving a few seconds once in a while?
Santiago@svpino

If you aren't using "uv" yet, your 2024 is about to be a whole lot better. Here is a speed comparison of installing the list of required libraries in a project. Left terminal: uv Right terminal: Python's venv The difference is embarrassing.

Built with: - @nextjs + @vercel for hosting (and their awesome AI SDK) - @clerk for auth - @shadcn (best UI lib ever!) - @tldraw for annotations - @convex for storage And because OpenAI Functions are so structured, gpt-3.5 is quite good (and much faster than gpt-4!).

Ha, nice! I've been building this as a solo dev the last couple of months, leveraging OpenAI Functions. The idea was to offer a "fuzzy command palette" where you could just type what you want to change the state of your chart. Give it a spin. Would love any feedback!

@ryanjanssen @ekzhang1 Totally. For your absolute closest friends you need people who are aligned on the core beliefs/behaviors you want to have. E.g. it’s a terrible idea to be close friends with a cynic if value curiosity and wonder

there are people I am around sometimes, whose beliefs I do not want to emulate at all I worry sometimes that being around them changes my own worldview and values in subtle ways, and I won't be able to have the sense of joy and wonder that I rely on for inspiration and motive

🚨#BREAKING: Sea lions have escaped the Central Park zoo due severe flooding
📌#Manhattan | #NewYork Due to the extreme flooding that is occurring across New York City, the water level in the Sea Lion area rose significantly. As a result, the Sea Lions were able to swim over the glass enclosure and escaped their exhibit at the Central Park Zoo, according to zoo officials. The zoo staff also monitored the sea lion as she explored the area before returning to the familiar surroundings of the pool. Importantly, the sea lion never breached the zoo’s secondary perimeter. The Central Park zoo is closed due to the severe weather
