When I was in college in the so-called ‘heyday’ of the early 2000’s, I routinely went weeks at a time with less than 20 bucks in my account, even with two part time jobs while in school, mostly nights, weekends and holidays.
I sold my vehicle because I couldn’t afford it and rode a bike for three years…in Arizona (which sucked massive ass, by the way)
I ate Raman nightly and the 59 cent tacos from Del Taco when I was feeling bold. A treat was the cheap Mexican place every couple months. this went on for *years*.
Life sucks in college. We get it- but if you hate your country because of it, that’s all on you.
Join the army or the peace corps or something- but whatever you do, please shut the fuck up and stop acting like you’re the only person who’s had to work their ass off to succeed in life.

What blows my my mind about Europe is that they don't have whole-house fans.
They used to be popular in the US. My childhood home has one. A four-foot diameter fan run off a belt and a big electric motor; set in the ceiling of the back hall behind a louvered door. Close up the windows except at the opposite end of the house, crank it up full blast and the back hall becomes a wind tunnel that can lift small dogs off their feet. Fire it up at night to cool the entire house down, then set the timer switch to shut down come early morning, close up the few open windows on your way out the door for work and the whole house stays cool the rest of the day, its own insulation rejecting the heat trying to seep in from outside. My parents have A/C now but for much of the summer they don't actually need to use it thanks to that fan. Much lower power cost.

If I want to open a restaurant I have to get permits, health inspections, pay taxes and rent. These people have none of that, buy much of their food on food stamps, take their income under the table, and send it back to their home country.
Honest restauranteurs are going out of business all over LA. This stops now.

Mevie (MEVCO R1T) had heavy duty flooring installed instead of the typical carpet. It's not woven but more of a solid sheet with a plastic or vinyl coating and textured for grip. Perfect for rainy days, mud, or snow and salt from winter roads. Just pools water and wipes clean. I wish Rivian would offer this as an option.
They also threw in Rivian mats that you can get on the gear shop but there's no buttons to anchor them down so the mats slide a bit. We'll need to figure out a solution for that.
