Someone asked if the medical physician exception to PM-602-1092/3/4 applied to pending I-129 petitions for the O-1 category, and one AUSA suggests that it does.

PM-602-0192/4 "medical physician" exception update: Government attorney has confirmed it applies to I-765 also. So exception applies to I-485 and I-765, but not I-130 and I-131.
No confirmation yet re: I-140 and I-129.

Evolving news about "medical physician" exception to PM-602-0192/4. Gov attorney has revealed that USCIS has lifted the adjudication hold as to I-485 applications for medical physicians, but not as to I-130 petitions or I-131 applications. Waiting for clarification on I-765s.

Mr. @SecMullinDHS, as you step into your new position I ask you to provide particular consideration to the status of Iranian students and professionals in the United States who may be at risk of immigration complications due to Presidential Proclamations 10949 and 10998. Many of these individuals fled the Islamic Republic’s because they believe in freedom, democracy, and the values this country stands for. They are also contributing to the United States every day. They arrived in this country legally, followed the rules, respect this country and its system of law and order and are among the most dedicated and accomplished contributors to American society. I ask that you and your department consider these factors, plus the personal and political risk many of these young people would face if sent back to the criminal regime in Iran. America’s concerns for its national security and the threat posed by the Islamic regime to the homeland are entirely justified. To that end, my office stands ready to provide you and your colleagues with regime operatives, propaganda agents, and influence networks for investigation and removal from the United States. Thank you for your consideration.

Today, many Iranian scholars, physicians, scientists, researchers, and young professionals who fled repression and came here legally to build safe, productive lives are facing sudden and indefinite USCIS hold since December.
Many are stuck in uncertainty
losing work authorization, income, career opportunities, and the ability to begin positions they trained for over many years. Some are now considering leaving the United States altogether.
This is also against America’s interests. These individuals are highly educated, law-abiding, and ready to contribute to U.S. industry, medicine, research, innovation, and the economy.
We respectfully ask for renewed and serious follow-up on this matter. Your voice can help bring visibility, urgency, and action for a community that has now waited far too long.

So if you go to uscis.gov/newsroom/alert… you will see the memo regarding the USCIS benefits pause. It says last updated 3/30. Well, guess what? It changed sometime after 4/27 and I'm guessing it was probably today given the horribly shameful news that researchers who were working on the pancreatic cancer AI diagnosis breakthrough have been caught up in the illegal USCIS benefits pause. The second screenshot below is what the paragraph with a new physician exception looked like two days ago.
