1.1 million people, were murdered at the Auschwitz complex, making it the site of the largest mass execution of human beings ever recorded. It’s a harrowing place, but I believe everyone should visit it, especially now, 80 years today since its liberation and with so few survivors remaining; we must not forget or deny.

The Murder Barracks Hut of Aushwitz. I took this video walking around the surviving Murder Hut of Aushwitz. If you were too weak to work you were imprisoned in here until the building was full to capacity, and then everyone inside was taken to the gas chambers. I could feel the suffering, the misery and the fear that had been inside that building… 80 years ago today Aushwitz was liberated. 6 years ago this July I stopped at the camps of Aushwitz on my return journey from the solo motorcycle ride to the Russian border and back over 8 days for Nightingale House Hospice.
