@WojoKen More on point, I’ve seen a similar trend. The freedom that society afforded me as a teen has been largely stripped away. Why do teens need a license? There’s fewer jobs for them, they’re not allowed to drive friends, and state-mandated curfews. Nowhere to go, so why drive?

I am very excited to announce that this morning I received and accepted the call to be the new senior minister of Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Lexington NC. We are absolutely convinced this is the Lord’s call for us and I am thrilled to take on this new role. It will also be nice to be a little closer to Richmond. It will of course be very sad to leave @SPCGreenville . We have been here since August of 2018 and this has been such a wonderful home and is all my kids really know. My entire family has enjoyed so many deep friendships here. The leadership and mentorship of the session but especially @RDP4Christ and @MeltonDuncan have been invaluable and among the greatest privileges the Lord has afforded me. I am humbled by the call and so excited to see how the Lord will lead in this next chapter of life. I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls.  (2 Corinthians 12:15, ESV) So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.  (1 Thessalonians 2:8, ESV) The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.  (1 Timothy 1:5, ESV)

@racheljwelcher If you don’t have it yet, the Sing! Hymnal from the Getty’s has a lay-flat edition with chords for each song. My piano playing is at a similar level (albeit I only play for family worship), and I can accompany almost every song. I highly recommend it!

NAPARC has twice as many seminarians preparing for the ministry than the PCUSA. @ReformTheoSem by itself has more than all PCUSA seminaries combined.

I would gladly for a more comfortable chair with guaranteed leg room. Honestly. That’d be worth more than an upgraded seat on the flight there!

@BowTiedKunekune @GeorgeSayour Milwaukee is kid-friendly! The Children’s Museum is world class. Plus, kids can legally drink in Wisconsin bars (if their parents are present).

@GeorgeSayour Make it free, and/or at a family friendly location where wives and kids can go do something for free and in a safe area (aka the beach, hiking areas) while dad is doing work for the church. Downtown Louisville ain’t it.

#pcaga, SBC has a Convention w/ 27,000 ppl and 12,000 Messengers. Guess how much Registration costs? As long as we don't think outside the box, PCAGA will soon cost $1000/Commissioner. The answer to the SBC Question- ZERO $ for a Messenger to do the business of the Church

@thebocollins @warne The vibraphone player was exceptional too. Your idea to have overtures meet ahead of time like RPR is solid. Giving them more time would certainly help.

@warne I actually loved the music. That bass player was A++.

My personal preference is one welcome worship service Tuesday night. Keep it simpler, less performance/more congregational. I’m not anti-worship bands, but this year was rough to keep up with and went over time.

@patrickfischl Sadly, an older elder in front of me was against it because it's a waste of time. I tried to explain to him that it doesn't cost us anything, and the men on it want to do the work.

@WojoKen Bold take: I think the AI Study Committee has the potential to be even more important and helpful to the church than the Christian Nationalism one.

@WojoKen Oh, I know. The sentiment from the negative votes on the floor seemed to be "this is unnecessary and a waste of money." I'm 100% in favor of it, and wish it had passed last year so they could've had something prepared already.
