And yet... that doesn't seem to be enough to secure even a teaching-stream role. Just so defeated. Tried to do everything "right", and I watch those that do the bare minimum be rewarded. *big sigh*

Another interview cycle down. Another year without securing a permanent role. It may be time to figure out another plan. Is post-secondary truly where I want to be? Any advice out there? I love teaching. I love engaging with students. I love developing, learning, and growing.

In class tomorrow, we are going to talk about saddle-shaped surfaces. So, I decided to fold some. I made one from a square piece of paper and one from a circular piece.

@techknowmath I don't understand why Google Slides doesn't have Jamboard functionality built in. A Jamboard is a transparent image layer that holds handwriting and drawing, right? How hard could it be to add that to Slides?

I enjoyed using Jamboard, but, realistically, Google Slides was the more versatile. I pushed out many daily tasks with slides, kids created projects and portfolios. It is simple to give feedback in slides via Google Classroom. I could monitor in real time, etc .. #iteachmath

What if our work was judged not by the answers they give but by the questions they ask? Questions are the means of learning connections. Answers (as we've taught) are (too often) the ends of grading transactions. Is learning the goal? Asking for the kids. #Project180

It takes resolve to continually question your practice, but once I made the commitment to stop with mindless, formulaic approaches, I was continually astounded that most teachers (including me) had no firm grasp on some of the deeper concepts I was "teaching". #iteachmath

There's an extreme lawsuit put forward seeking to overturn Prop 3. If this lawsuit is successful, women across Michigan could lose protections for IVF, contraception, prenatal care, and abortion care. Not on my watch. Today, I'm filing a motion to protect reproductive freedom.
