Optical satellites don't work 70% of the time. Axion (@axionorbital) built advanced SAR-to-optical models to solve this. "Hubble" delivers 10m resolution, while "Orion" reaches 0.5m, with an FID of 30.24. Now, you can track any asset—day or night, in any weather. Congrats on the launch @dhenenjay & @atharva_peshkar! axionorbital.space

How cool is it to get to meet both the women astronauts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia @Astro_Mariam & @Astro_Rayyanah at a public place in Riyadh!😄🙌 Such an inspiration for the young folks in the region, especially girls who aspire to be in STEM.

AI’s next frontier is Spatial Intelligence, a technology that will turn seeing into reasoning, perception into action, and imagination into creation. But what is it? Why does it matter? How do we build it? And how can we use it? Today, I want to share with you my thoughts on building and using world models to unlock spatial intelligence in this essay below. 1/n

25 Years Off the Earth, for the Earth 🌍 At 10:23 UTC (15:53 IST) on 2 November 2000, humanity took a quiet but profound step — the first crew entered the International Space Station. Three pioneers—Bill Shepherd, Yuri Gidzenko, and Sergei Krikalev—opened the hatch to a new era. They turned a collection of modules into humanity’s first permanent home in space. Since that moment, there has never been a single day when all of humankind was confined to Earth. Today at the time of posting this, the ISS marks 25 years of continuous human presence in orbit, we celebrate not just an engineering marvel, but a testament to what we can achieve when nations choose collaboration over competition. More than 280 people from 26 countries have called this orbital outpost home — floating ambassadors of science, unity, and the unyielding human spirit. The ISS reminds us that when we look beyond borders, we find not distance, but purpose. This is humanity, at its best — teamwork, quite literally, out of this world. Thanks to my dear friend @AstroAnnimal for this wonderful footage. #shux #space #iss #isro #nasa #roscosmos #esa #csa #jaxa #axiom4 #shubhanshushukla

Congratulations to the entire @ISRO team on the successful launch of LVM3-CMS03! 🚀 The mission once again proves the reliability and versatility of the LVM3 launcher. This sub-GTO approach, enabling the lift of a heavier satellite by optimizing fuel loading in the spacecraft to achieve its final orbit without compromising mission life, is a remarkable engineering achievement. 👏 Best wishes for CMS-03 as it’s manoeuvred to its orbital slot to begin delivering vital communication services soon! 🇮🇳✨ #SimanathSpeak

I still remember the day Shuttle Columbia was lost during reentry (2003). Seeing that headline — and knowing Kalpana Chawla was onboard — was heartbreaking. That moment planted a seed: one day I wanted to be a part of India's space journey. #KalpanaChawla #SPACESHUTTLE

The govt. surely needs to up the ante in creating more core jobs - including deeptech areas like AI, quantum, etc., and invest in massive upskilling programs bcoz with the H1B issue & regular downsizing in the IT sector, we have a real problem coming our way! @PMOIndia @NITIAayog

Time to move from bits to atoms. Time to revive core engineering — mechanical, aerospace, electrical, chemical, civil, metallurgy — and build a workforce ready to power India’s and the world’s future in aerospace, space, defense, biotech, nuclear & robotics. ⚙️🚀

Quick thoughts: 1. The 3-metre era has run its course - willingness to pay and differentiation is higher for high resolution + it is future proof especially as Sentinel-2 next-gen might go up to 5-metres in the 2030s and Landsat potentially to 10-metres. 2. Edge computing is definitely going mainstream - integrating onboard processing capabilities will become the norm, if not already, for most future satellites with electro-optical sensors (soon hyperspectral). 3. Planet’s strategy completes the loop for EO and AI: foundational models on the ground (Google/Anthropic) to exploit the archives, and AI on the edge for real-time applications.

Thrilled to announce our next-generation monitoring satellites: the Owl fleet. 🦉 🛰️ Owls will continue our unique daily global scan, but move us from 3-m to 1-meter class – a sharper view! + with Nvidia GPUs they’ll be smarter! That’s why we're calling them Owls: they’ve big eyes & they’re wise!👁️🧐 Owls will unlock myriad applications & continue @Planet’s disruption of space. First tech demo going next year! ⚡🚀 planet.com/pulse/introduc…
