When asked about the possibility of ending up with two Republican candidates for governor and no Democrats, Gavin Newsom responded: “We all have agencies. We can shape the future… I don’t anticipate this need to be the case, but there is a ‘break the glass scenario.’ There’s many people that have a deep understanding of what it would look like if Democrats were locked out, and we’re going to do everything to make sure that doesn’t happen. I’ll leave it there.” It would be nice if he gave a hint about what lengths he intends to go to in order to ensure a Democrat wins. 🤨

🇺🇸 A CIA physicist just put 4 alien species on the record. Dr. Hal Puthoff. 89 years old. Stanford-trained quantum physicist. Decades running classified programs for the CIA and NSA. I was late to the Census party, but OMG, do I ever live in the dumbest country on Earth. Asking for "sex at birth" which is defined as being "typically observed based on a person's reproductive system." and, the best part: "What is the person's gender? which is defined as "an individual’s personal and social identity as a man (or a boy), a woman (or a girl), or a person who is not exclusively a man (or a boy) or a woman (or a girl), for example, non-binary, agender, gender fluid, queer or Two-Spirit." I'm not making this up. This is actually what it asks. Of course it's redundant at this point to describe Canada as Clown Land, but being forced to answer these imbecilic questions is cringe-inducing and frankly embarrassing.

Because it was a one time price level rise, resulting from one time unfunded fiscal blowout, having little to do with the fed. Countries with less fiscal blowout had less inflation —Switzerland. See barro bianchi

@mtkonczal the aggregate inflation figures across countries hide variation of the underlying causes: e.g. the UK saw much more protracted supply-side weakness as well as excessive nominal spending vs. trend; whereas in the U.S. the nominal overreach was much greater.

Should diplomats declare outright that their mission is "global dominance" or should they arrive in new countries saying they want to help? There's such a thing as coming on too strong. Though maybe the brutal alpha act works. Maybe other countries find it candid & refreshing.
