More datasets are being released, but clarity hasn’t improved. By end-2024, 16 major Indian #datasets were delayed; 10 have since been published. Experts say the issue isn’t volume—but opacity, weak comparability & shrinking #transparency in the statistical system indiaspend.com/governance/ind…

#agrarianchange2025
Meet the Speakers of the FAS International Conference on Agrarian Change! 🌾
From today, we begin introducing the key speakers under each theme of the upcoming conference.
Theme 1: Productive Forces and Relations of Production in the Countryside
Across much of the world, deep class divisions define agriculture, with a small elite owning most of the land while the majority depend on precarious livelihoods. The agrarian question remains central to understanding capitalism’s national and global dynamics, shaped by class, caste, and gender.
Experts from academia, policy, and agrarian movements will explore these themes at the International Conference on Agrarian Change.

#Kerala doesn’t make a show of its efficiency. But in our time here, we’ve come to recognise the many invisible ways the state does its job, and in how the people here don’t just hope but expect it to perform. Welfare is seen as a right, not a favour.
