@DavidSherMD Totally agree! I just had a patient completely abort oral cavity treatment after 10 fractions because of fear of permanent taste changes. It's taste, but it's also a social life, our way of interacting with others and having a shared experience.

As H&N RT continues to improve, chronic taste changes have become a more prominent symptom after treatment. Need better PROs to describe these side effects, which can be very frustrating. nytimes.com/2020/09/06/opi…

@AmitKulkarniMD Prognosis for stage IIIB is very limited, and if on 6L O2 for pulmonary fibrosis / hypertension his prognosis is limited from that as well. I'm wondering if he would be best served by palliative systemic therapy alone as the risk of toxicity is high and chance of cure low.

#LCSM folks, curious to hear your thoughts: 81 yr M, 40 pack yr smoking, STAGE IIIB NSCLC, has pulm fibrosis, emphysema, moderate pulmonary hypertension on chronic 6L O2, but is independent of ADL, KPS 70-80. He wants Rx. Very worried about pneumonitis. Thanks in advance.
