I try to avoid being a doomer, but I do feel immense pressure to have my product conform to the new way of working in a way I haven’t felt before. Organic traffic is no longer a distribution strategy, customers don’t want to login anymore, you need to have a CLI/MCP or customers will go elsewhere, our AI features need to be updated weekly and one-shot the most random requests… Your company is at risk if you don’t move fast enough. I’m embracing it but I understand why people are anxious. It’s never ending.

Da Nang, Vietnam is unbelievably affordable 🇻🇳 For just $15/night, I get: 🌊 Sea-facing hotel 🍳 Free breakfast buffet ⚡ Fast Wi-Fi 🏋️ Gym & 🏊 Pool access ❄️ 24/7 AC I control myself 🛏️ Well-maintained room with a working desk. I think Vietnam is better than Bali. Move to Vietnam and lock yourself in to build your million-dollar idea.

@patio11 @Wise thank you Patrick for the advice. I'll push and simultaneously hope that the gears are actually turning somewhere.

@perryroper @Wise It gets much more difficult after the window is over so I’d push them to investigate and reverse quickly in your case. (Though sometimes “We are not sure” is cover for a process running more than it is true uncertainty.)

@patio11 maybe one that you can shed some light on: why do US bank account numbers seemingly not use Luhn check digits? Looking like I just lost $1600 via @Wise because I typed a 6 instead of a 7 at the end of an account number. Also no recipient name checks. Seems mad.

@patio11 @Wise makes sense, everything does need to be invented. raised it with my bank (in Thailand) 72 hours after realising the mistake, but they use a 3rd party to actually do the ACH, so they are unsure. looks like it was instantly sent to the wrong account complete with push notification

@perryroper @Wise (Ask their CS if they can reverse the transfer; it’s possible during a window.) Broadly: some banks use them but others don’t, can’t impose/rely on uniformity, everything needs to be invented and some banks accounts in continuous use are older than Luhn, etc.

In Thailand and having trouble figuring out the dates in Google Search results? My friend @WilloLovesYou spun up a little chrome/ff extension to save the day!

@JesseSchoberg tried this before, but quickly gave up on it. it changes the results to be relevant to that region. made results 100% less useful haha.

Oh wait.. actually you can just change the Region settings from "Current Region" to US (or whatever) in google and it solves this at the root. google.com/preferences?hl…

#startupidea an api to evaluate user risk for website owners. - inputs: ip, email, domain, user agent, payment method, past bad behaviors (e.g., chargeback abuse). - outputs: json with risk score + specific risks website owners could block bad users before it's too late
wenbin.org@wenbinf

#startupidea Like @scale_ai/@amazonmturk, but mobile-first - Imagine you are in a long line in Starbucks - you open our app and tag a few images and do some AI training tasks. You get paid. - when you are ready to order coffee, you’ve earned enough to make full/partial payment

The hardest part about leaving Meta has been not having access to Workplace. It is - hands down - the best software I have ever used to scale knowledge/technical work vertically and horizontally across an entire organization. It's a shame it's not used more widely.

@dhh @jasonfried New Campfire customers incoming! FB/Meta's business chat that we've paid thousands of dollars for will cease to exist and everything will be deleted. Because reasons.

Update round two. Fixes initial template day setting when you have none set. Shows Completed when you’re done. Calories messaging now only shows if you have data in Health. Summary shows reps you completed for the highest weight, and weight you completed for the highest reps.
Karl@_kejk

I got frustrated by every strength training app being a nightmare of 30 day abs, recipes, and other junk. So I made a super simple—but useful—one for myself, and like always, decided to share it for free. If you train in the gym, you may enjoy. iOS only. kejk.tech/working-sets

DigitalOcean is how the cloud should have been. You choose a $64/mo server, and at the end of the month you get charged $64. No NAT_GATEWAY_EGRESS_INTER_REGION nonsense fees.

@Timb03 Gotcha. How about raise the base price keep add-ons where they are/slight bump? Or add a new tier? Free/$19 (at +$4 just raise for everyone, very few will care)/$49

@perryroper True, it's $15/mo per social set though so a agency might have 50 for example.

Pricing is hard. Pallyy's pricing is $15/mo. Increasing it to $20 would get me over $1M ARR. Things are going well though, is it worth it...?

@Timb03 If you want to avoid drama with existing customers, you can always just grandfather them in on the old pricing. Change the price for any new customers to $49/mo. Still incredible value at that price point, especially as you said you’re constantly adding new features.

@Timb03 $15 seems cheap for a business tool. Your pricing page says it’s for “social media agencies with multiple brands”. If that’s who your customers are, that’s a complete steal at $15. You could easily 2/3/4x that price.
