It needs to be asked ‘if farm incomes are so low, why is farming’s main asset, land, so expensive?’. The reason is because of lots of reasons other than food production, like IHT exemption, subsidies, sale of land for development etc.

Must Get In Front (of the bike)
@peterdixon 100%! It's the deep set drains that are my least favourite here. Easily deeper than my tyres with petty defined esges - and often covered with puddles and debris. Unfortunately, there's no real alternative for where I need to go.

Must Get In Front (of the bike)
These overtakes are always fun. 40mph road, around a corner, crap in the road, steady oncoming traffic and a big lorry. Thankfully the oncoming cars had a layby to dodge into otherwise I'd have been properly in trouble. Your patience and consideration is much appreciated Eljot!

Same road, but different story. Perfect overtake from these two. Most drivers are excellent, some are not.

Can you imagine a country negotiating a trade deal where you make/resurrect higher barriers to trade, but you unilaterally give the other much more access to your market than you get to theirs, advantaging & favouring their exporters over your own counterparts? Step forward UK

In modern Britain there’s about ten campaigns AGAINST something for every one campaign FOR something. That’s why we need strong leadership. Shall we see it? Or shall we see years of delay with vexatious spurious complaints? I honestly don’t know. But the poorest suffer the most

@EngineerLondon trouble is once they realise what's involved with underground they would still be upset. There ia campaign in Devon against underground HVDC where it comes ashore for x-links.

Tidy Renault 4 being used as a daily in South West France. Good to see survivors like this being driven everyday.

@FXMC1957 Ricky Tarr’s unforgettable line. “I've got a story to tell you. It's all about spies. And if it's true - which I think it is - you boys are gonna need a whole new organisation, right?”
