I'm confused why people think I will honour my contract, as in my lease, when everyone else in the chain has broken theirs? I will not be paying for the #claddingscandal or any other fire safety defects or interim measures.

Leading Grenfell Inquiry Counsel Stephanie Barwise KC attacks @Royal_Greenwich council position denying the existence of ALL evidence of unlawful and dangerous construction at build at 8 tall tower blocks in Woolwich. Repeating the same dismissing of residents as at #Grenfell. Time for Greenwich council to withdraw this false council position. Immediately. It's been a year. There’s just no end to the malfeasance of this Labour Government. Tucked away on page 18 of today’s @ObserverUK is an article about Grenfell Tower. It details the efforts of bereaved family members to have some parts of the tower preserved for posterity - for a memorial to those who lost their lives in that horrific fire. The areas that the families wanted preserved from demolition were the stairwells where handprints of those in their last moments were etched on the soot coated walls. Someone also wrote ‘“Allahu Akbar (God is greatest).”’ Despite assurances from the government that the prints would be preserved, they have instead been destroyed. Shah Aghlani lost his mother and aunt in the fire. He said: ‘“If the government wants to spend taxpayers money on a memorial for our loved ones but refuses to listen when we say the process is flawed and the memorial commission is not fit for purpose, what are we meant to do?”’ @UKLabour #GrenfellTower

There's been 9 Secretary of State, 5 Prime Ministers and several name changes for the Department/Ministry of Housing and local communities. Simon Dudley, not even an elected official, is yet another swipe of disrespect after nearly 9 years of disrespect, towards the immediate families of those who died. The next of kin of the deceased are ready to talk and be listened to with intention. Otherwise all the posturing, virtue signalling and political point scoring is convenient and exploitative. @Keir_Starmer @SteveReedMP @SamanthaDixonMP @josephpowell @AngelaRayner @mhclg @ObserverUK @Victoria_Spratt @Telegraph @thetimes

🔥 “Everyone dies in the end.” That was the response from @reformparty_uk Housing Spokesman Simon Dudley when asked about the Grenfell fire tragedy. Let that sink in. 72 people didn’t just “die”. They were failed—by a system, by regulation, and by an industry that cut corners and walked away. Even Grenfell United called the remarks “dehumanising” and a denial of responsibility. Dudley has now been sacked by Reform UK. Good. But this isn’t just about one comment. It exposes a deeper problem in how parts of the housing debate still minimise accountability. Because here’s the uncomfortable truth: 👉 We are STILL asking innocent leaseholders to pay for industry failure. Right now, around 1.7 million leaseholders are excluded from protections and could face ruinous bills to fix defects they didn’t cause. And instead of full remediation, we’re seeing partial fixes under PAS9980—leaving buildings partially remediated uninsurable, unsellable, and fundamentally unresolved. That’s not justice. That’s managed decline. 💡 There is a solution: The Polluter Pays amendment led by the Earl of Lytton. It would: ✔ Make developers and contractors legally responsible for ALL defects ✔ Fund remediation across the entire system—not just “qualifying” cases ✔ Protect every leaseholder, not just a subset ✔ Remove the need for costly legal battles ✔ End the broken, three-tier system distorting the housing market In short: 👉 Fix the buildings properly 👉 Protect homeowners 👉 Make the industry pay for its mistakes No more half-measures. No more exclusions. No more passing the bill to the victims. Grenfell was not inevitable. And neither is the injustice that followed. “Dudley has made Reform’s position crystal clear: safety is inconvenient, regulation is a nuisance, and death is just one of those things. His idea of ‘balance’ is relaxed… as long as it’s not his family on the wrong side of it. I have been asked a lot this last fortnight of other places’ tragedies and paths to rested site and memorials. I just cannot get past how utterly failed families and communities of Grenfell have been by police and CPS. And by Ministers. Criminal justice must always be served 1st

“Everyone dies in the end. It's just how you go.” Simon Dudley Reform Party Housing spokesperson. The death of our parents, partners, children, siblings grandparents and grandchildren in the most horrific circumstances was gross negligent manslaughter, NOT fate. I am appalled by today’s verdict against Ben Jamal and Chris Nineham. In January 2025, we held an entirely peaceful demonstration in support of Palestinian people. At all times, they — and we — followed all police instructions. We ended the demonstration by laying down flowers at their feet to mourn the deaths of Palestinian children. Today’s verdict is a dark day for civil liberties in this country — and is a disgraceful assault on the right to protest. My solidarity is with Ben, Chris and all those who have stood up for our common humanity in the face of genocide. This case is part of a wider attempt to intimidate the Palestinian solidarity movement into silence. They will never succeed.
Palestine Solidarity Campaign@PSCupdates

The judge has ruled that Ben Jamal and Chris Nineham are guilty on all charges. This is a disgraceful decision. We will follow up soon with a full statement. Our right to protest is precious, and is undermined by this decision, but the fight is not over.

Professor #Marandi, one of the most important voices of our time, says he may not survive this war but the monstrous thug #PeteHegseth will not succeed. The language #Trump's Secretary of Defense uses is SHOCKING eg “playing for keeps” meaning your #oil is ours. IT IS NOT A GAME!

Israel now has one of the world’s most extreme death penalty laws. Israel is brazenly granting itself free rein to execute Palestinians while stripping away the most basic fair-trial safeguards. The death penalty will now become part of the system of apartheid, genocide and occupation that Palestinians continue to suffer under. This law has passed in the same month in which Israeli military attorney general dropped all charges against Israeli soldiers accused of sexually assaulting a Palestinian detainee. Not even apartheid South Africa codified executions for only one ‘race group’. Israel is now the most racist state the world has ever known. Shame on every government, every company, every individual who offer it support.
Dyab Abou Jahjah@Aboujahjah

Israel has now become the first state to codify a death sentence that applies in practice to one ethnic group, while another is effectively shielded from it.

Israel has zero respect for International Law, Children, Civilians and Journalists are their primary target, they don't want the people to have a future + don't want the truth told about the present. Israel is a Terrorist State that still has the unconditional support of the EU..
Mohamad Safa@mhdksafa

This is not a military target, this is a car clearly marked as Press, Israel deliberately targeted in Lebanon, killing 3 journalists. This violates Article 79 of Additional Protocol I Geneva Conventions, but international law clearly doesn’t apply to Israel.
