The Royalties from our shared natural resources, what has it been used for ? Show us and then we pay more.

Which one comes first, cart or the horse, result or tax. Though I understand your position which is the general argument of Nigerians who are reluctant to pay taxes. With what are you going to show the result? Paying your tax empowers you to ask for the result. Paying my property tax empowers me to demand that my garbage is picked every Thursday, there is streetlight in my street, my street is tarred and police show up for safety and security. Tax doesn’t cover my water, electricity and gas. I pay for them to the companies or organizations that provide them. The usual argument of Nigerians why they don’t want to pay tax is there is no result and government officials are embezzling it. The money they are embezzling is the welfare cheque from the Niger delta people’s oil money. It is a free money and not your money. You can’t ask for accountability on a money that doesn’t belong to you. When you start paying tax ask for the result. If they don’t give you, refuse to pay tax next time or go to court.
