Tesla's Optimus V3 robot hand looks to have been revealed in a new international patent published today. The patent describes a tendon/cable-driven hand: • Actuators in the forearm • Each finger has 4 degrees of freedom • The wrist has 2 degrees of freedom • Tendon-driven system: 3 thin, flexible control cables (tendons) per finger run from forearm actuators, through the wrist and into the fingers. • Advanced wrist routing: Cables switch from a lateral (horizontal) stack on the forearm side to a vertical stack on the hand side, plus a transition zone to minimize stretch, torque, friction, and crosstalk during yaw/pitch movements. • Integrated control cable channels in the finger segments and precise routing (behind some joints, forward others) for selective bending. The full filing is in the thread below if you want to read more about it:

@LamarMK The Roadster will probably be phenomenal in a straight line, but suck on tracks with corners in comparison to Porsches, BMWs and the Corvette. I'll be happy if I'm wrong tho!

Do you think the new Tesla Roadster will be able to defeat the Corvette ZR1X? The ZR1X is putting down 1,250 horsepower, 0 to 60 in under 2 seconds, and running an 8.67 second quarter mile. This thing is no joke. For years the Model S Plaid was dominating the track. But with the Model S ending production, Tesla's answer to the competition will likely be the Roadster. Tesla is going to need to bring everything they've got. This is going to be one of the greatest performance battles we've ever seen. Who wins, Roadster or ZR1X?

@iamtobi Do you think it would run on 12V? Or does it need a converter to step it up to 16V?

As a HW4 owner, I can see my future with the HW3 owners. I'm surprised Tesla didn't modularize their hardware from day 1. If people are willing to spend 2K to shave half a second to 60mph on an already quick car, you have to believe they'd be willing to buy upgraded hardware. I'd gladly buy HW5 when it comes out for the same reason I upgrade my computers.

I love my Tesla but, at no other time has owning a car been more similar to buying a new iPhone. Will you get the update? Is your device too old? Do you need to upgrade to get simple features? A 7 year old iPhone can operate Grok. But your 4 year old Tesla can’t. You’ll need to upgrade for that feature.

Why are people saying it's expensive to insure a Tesla? I insure a Cybertruck and a Model Y. Two drivers, full coverage with towing and rental for just over $200 a month. People are always shocked when I tell them that. They expected it to be way more. The insurance cost is one of the biggest myths holding people back from buying a Tesla. How much do you pay to insure yours?

@EchoplexSE I won't care about it once I can sleep while FSD is driving and Tesla assumes all liabilities including traffic ticket. Until then, the inability to control the speed is the reason I'm not using it anymore

I’ve stopped using FSD entirely for the first time over the past 6 weeks and unsubscribed in my Y (had been continuously subscribed since April 2024). The majority of the miles driven in my 2024 3 performance ((picked up on 3/28/25) have been using FSD, easily 95% up until recently. With the ability to purchase FSD going away, I’m tempted to purchase it out right in my Y but why buy something I’m not going to use. FSD is simply an amazing well thought out piece of software BUT it is unusable without being able to set a Max speed. Anyone have less usage than I do with V14.2?@tesla

Can you add a feature to the @Tesla app that allows manual battery preconditioning from the app while plugged in at home? I forgot to plug in my car last night so I stopped at the supercharger 5 min from my house and of course the battery is cold soaked. @elonmusk

There are currently over 11M pending applications in the backlog at the USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services). The federal agency that handles most aspects of legal immigration to the US So even if hypothetically all of the illegal immigrants in America were not criminals and were not violent, they still do not deserve to be here. They have "cut the line" of millions of people trying to come here the right way. People that have been waiting YEARS, going through the proper channels and respecting American immigration law And obviously this hypothetical is just that because some percentage of these illegal immigrants are indeed violent, dangerous, criminals So the fact that we have tens of thousands of Americans celebrating, defending and laying their lives down to protect this group of people is the height of absurdity. No matter what their reason for being here, they're all technically criminals. They broke the law and are here illegally. And law-abiding, hard working American citizens are paying for them to be here with our tax dollars. It's wrong. And if you can't acknowledge this basic premise you're deluded

@Tesla_NL_TR It might be an EV issue due to extreme low rolling resistance tires. Big channels in the tread cause resistance but they are also what moves the water out quickly, making sure the tire stays on the road

🚨 I’ve noticed that with a Tesla, you lose control very quickly during aquaplaning and it causes accidents. With many car brands with rear-wheel drive like Mercedes and BMW, this doesn’t happen as quickly. Of course, from 100 km/h the chance of aquaplaning is higher, I get that. But why do you lose control so fast? This really shouldn’t happen. When it rains heavily, I personally don’t drive faster than 90 km/h with my Tesla. Has anyone experienced such an accident? Share it here in the comments. $TSLA #aquaplaning

Can I ask you all for a little favor? In Switzerland we have an abandoned rest stop since 2003 at one of the most beautiful lakes (Lake Walensee) and one of the most popular highways between Zurich and Graubünden. I think it would be a perfect place for Tesla to reopen it with the first Tesla Diner in Europe. What do you think? I would appreciate every support to bring this topic on Tesla's management table. 🍔⚡️🇨🇭 @Tesla @TeslaCharging @teslaeurope @elonmusk @woodhaus2

@wholemars Tell me you don't own a AI3 car without telling me😉 It's not about if it is technically possible, it's about having payed $7-15k for a system that is (for the time being) obsolete (no significant updates) and being forced to wait an unknown amount of months or by a new car

Tesla FSD avoids a stopped car on the highway, then avoids a moving car in the adjacent lane when swerving. Impressive.

Will you be adding your personal Tesla to the Robotaxi network so it can earn you money while you’re not using it? The car will essentially be able to pay for itself if you choose to do it.
