Actual quotes from President Trump: Trump’s “victory timeline” claims. Mar 3: "We won the war." Mar 7: "We defeated Iran." Mar 9: "We must attack Iran." Mar 9: "The war is ending almost completely, and very beautifully. March 10: practically nothing left to target Mar 11: “You never like to say too early you won. We won. In the first hour it was over.” Mar 12: "We did win, but we haven't won completely yet." Mar 13: "We won the war." Mar 14: "Please help us." Mar 15: "If you don't help us, I will certainly remember it." Mar 16: "Actually, we don't need any help at all." Mar 16: "I was just testing to see who's listening to me." Mar 16: "If NATO doesn't help, they will suffer something very bad." Mar 17: "We neither need nor want NATO's help." Mar 17: "I don't need Congressional approval to withdraw from NATO." Mar 18: "Our allies must cooperate in reopening the Strait of Hormuz." Mar 19: "US allies need to get a grip - step up and help open the Strait of Hormuz." Mar 20: "NATO are cowards." Mar 21: "The Strait of Hormuz must be protected by the countries that use it. We don't use it, we don't need to open it." Mar 22: "This is the last time. I will give Iran 48 hours. Open the strait" Mar 22: "Iran is Dead" Mar 23: "We had very good and productive talks with Iran." Mar 24: "We’re making progress." Mar 25: “They gave us a present and the present arrived today. And it was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money. I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize.” Mar 26: "Make a deal, or we’ll just keep blowing them away." Mar 27: "We don’t have to be there for NATO." Mar 28: No major quote Mar 29: Claimed talks were progressing Mar 30: "Open the Strait of Hormuz immediately, or face devastating consequences." Mar 31: Claimed a deal was "very close" and that Iran would "do the right thing" Apr 1: "We’ll see what happens very soon." Apr 2: Repeated that a deal was likely, while warning of continued strikes if not Apr 3: "Something big is going to happen." Apr 4: Said Iran must comply "immediately" or face further consequences. Apr 5: "Open the fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah." April 6 :a whole civilization will die April 7: total and complete victory April8: objectives were met A true disaster

What kind of eejit calls for the scrapping of the windfall tax on runaway oil profits - in the middle of an energy crisis with oil prices running away again…..seems pretty illogical to me. Racheal Reeves is right to stand firm. There are lots of fossil fuel interests seeking self gain in this crisis - they speak no sense, new drilling won't help our country - oil is over, it’s all about managing the transition now. thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

President Trump threatens to wipe out Iranian civilization if Tehran doesn’t cede to his demands by 8pm New York time (1am London) tonight (Tuesday). “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” Trump writes on his Truth Social platform. Is there anybody, any group capable of staging an intervention in the White House?

Iranian Ambassador: I think that, once more, this war has shown that the United States will not bring security and stability to the region. In response to the representative of the United States, I only want to refer to some remarks by the U.S. president, who initiated this war of aggression against Iran. On March 21st, he threatened to hit and obliterate Iran’s power plants. On March 28th, he escalated this threat, saying he wanted to blow up and completely obliterate critical infrastructure, including power plants, oil facilities, Kharg Island, and desalination installations. On April 1st, he declared his intention to bring Iran “back to the Stone Age,” explicitly threatening to strike all electric generating facilities. On April 5th, he again openly threatened to target civilian infrastructure, stating that “Tuesday will be power plant day and bridge day. There will be nothing like it.” And two days later, he resorted to language that is not only deeply irresponsible but profoundly alarming, declaring that “the whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back.” Such rhetoric is unbefitting of any political leader, let alone the head of a permanent member of the Council entrusted with the maintenance of international peace and security.

@afneil As CO2 makes up .043% of the earth's atmosphere and of that co2, 33% is man made and the UK makes up 1% of that 33%, banning fertilisers is obviously going to have a massive affect on net Zero. The man is an idiotic zealous.

The nut zero zealotry of Ed Miliband. A new occasional series. [feel free to add]. Fertiliser prices and shortages are soaring because the petrochemical industries of the Gulf states are major global suppliers but the Strait of Hormuz, through which they export, is closed. Not good for the spring planting season. Undaunted the UK will introduce a levy on imported carbon-intensive fertiliser as part of its costly obsession with cutting emissions, even when the impact is slight. At a time when we should be increasing food security government policy is to penalise farmers further.

@ABridgen Just shows how much @ABrigden knows about electric cars. They create far less brake dust than ICE vehicles as the motors brake instead. Most EV's brakes last 3 or 4 times ICE vehicles. As for weight, compare a Renault 5E with a Range Rover for weight. Idiot.

On a serious note - Electric vehicles cause far more road wear and tear than internal combustion engine cars. This is because they are considerably heavier due to the batteries than their ICE equivalents. Electric vehicles also produce more toxic particulates in the air due to heavier wear on the road surface , tyres and breaking system - again due to the extra weight. So much for EVs reducing city street air pollution - they don’t.
Andrew Bridgen@ABridgen

A great typically British take on the state of our roads. Very funny but sadly true. Where is all of the tax money going ? Not on repairing potholes that’s for sure. Please share

Comment ‘ZIP’ and I’ll show you how to fix your short game for good Most golfers get this wrong, turning short shots into a nightmare. They freeze up, stabbing at the ball with a handsy action. When your hands take over, your body stops moving, and rhythm is lost. ✅ Step 1: Use

@LouStagner @rossmacleodputt Hi Lou, how accurate is the Air in showing which club was used. I have the Arcos with the sensors and the link but 18 holes tends to flatten my phone battery in a round. I am thinking of the Air version (when the Android version is released) but worry about club accuracy.

@rossmacleodputt I tend to grip the club near the end of the grip and my hand can rub up against the sensor. Sometimes the sensor will move, and that does not feel good when you are swinging.

Now that Arccos have got rid of sensors people are saying they were bad. I use Shotscope with sensors and don’t even notice them. Why are the sensors bad? Is this something a lot of people say? Whatever product they use.

Nothing like a few hundred miles on the A1/M11 dodging potholes every few hundred yards of *every* mile. Utterly bonkers that some of the UK's main roads are in such poor state, and unsafe.

President Trump has said that it was "terrible" of Keir Starmer to not get involved in the Iran conflict. Keir Starmer likes to act after the damage, which could have been avoided, has been done. A complete wet wipe.

I really think he’s just making it up as he goes along. Are we really going to consider taking out Iranian missiles sites? That would effectively join us with Israel and the US in their attacks on Iran. Does he really mean that? And with what would we attack them? PS to this former foreign secretary — Cyprus is not in NATO. Ask the Turks.

Rachel Reeves continues to work her magic: Job vacancies in Britain fall to their lowest level in five years as businesses freeze graduate recruitment amid rising national insurance and other labour costs.  The number of advertised roles dropped to under 700,000 in January, down 16 per cent year on year, the first time since January 2021 that vacancies have slipped below that level, meaning numbers being hired now only marginally above pandemic-era lows.

Longtime listeners of the pod will know that for typical golfers, the key to lower scores isn't making more birdies. Today's episode drives that point home. How many birdies will a 10-index golfer make when he shoots in the 90s versus his rounds when he shoots in the 70s? Mark and Greg offer their guesses, and there is no small surprise when Lou reveals the correct answer.... Episode links and a lot of (justified?) "I wons"👇

@Teslarati They obviously haven't driven a legacy auto EV. Just purchased a Renault 5E the software is awful and any software update needs a return to dealer. Once you have driven a Tesla you appreciate how the software should really work, something legacy auto companies don't understand.
