10 Industries That Build Wealth in Kenya If you’re serious about building wealth in Kenya, focus on industries where demand is growing and problems are clear. 1. Real Estate remains one of the safest paths. In areas like Nairobi, population growth keeps pushing demand for housing, making rentals and land strong long-term investments. 2. Technology rewards those who create solutions at scale. Companies like Safaricom grew by solving payment challenges through M-Pesa—a reminder that convenience builds empires. 3. Finance and Investment is where money multiplies. Using platforms like the Nairobi Securities Exchange or SACCOs can help you grow capital instead of just earning income. 4. Healthcare offers stability. Medical services are always in demand, which means consistent income if you provide accessible and reliable care. 5. Energy is a growing opportunity, especially in solar. Many areas still lack stable electricity, so providing solutions puts you in a high-demand market. 6. Consumer Goods thrive on daily needs. Food, household items, and essentials guarantee steady cash flow if managed well. 7. Entertainment and Media is about attention. Creators like Eric Omondi show that influence can be turned into income through content and partnerships. 8. Manufacturing gives you an edge by producing locally what Kenya imports. This reduces costs and increases margins. 9. Retail and E-commerce reward convenience. Platforms like Jumia make it easier to reach customers beyond your physical location. 10. Telecommunication continues to grow as connectivity becomes essential. Companies like Airtel Kenya profit from the increasing demand for data and communication services.

I know a 35-year-old married couple in India. No kids by choice. Household income is strong. House almost paid off. Good investments. Foreign trips every year. Comfortable life. Looks sorted from the outside. But in the long run, this choice usually backfires. In India, money without family responsibility mostly turns into consumption. Bigger cars. Better phones. Another vacation to the same three places with different hotel names. At some point, experiences stop feeling new. Kids aren't just an expense here. They're continuity. Legacy. A reason to stay sharp, relevant, grounded. Ask older Indians what gave their life meaning. Almost none will talk about gadgets or trips. They talk about their children, the sacrifices, the chaos, the pride. Comfort is addictive in your 30s. Loneliness is brutal in your 60s. Choosing ease over building something bigger feels smart today.

@georgenjoroge_ @silasche As Kenyans we have zero discipline. We steal road signs, dump waste everywhere, urinate in corners and defecate in alleyways. Cannot compare to Rwandans. It's not the governments job to do some things

Stop blaming the budget. Kigali runs on half of what Nairobi receives and it is spotless, organized and functional. The difference is not money. The difference is not resources. The difference is not infrastructure. The difference is us. We are corrupt. We are undisciplined. We litter, we bribe, we steal public funds, we elect thieves and then complain about the results of electing thieves. Nairobi is not a city that needs more money. Nairobi needs people who are ashamed of what they have allowed it to become. Until that day comes no amount of funding will fix what is fundamentally a character problem. 😐

@georgenjoroge_ The solution is simple. Get all psvs and private cars parked along sidewalks out of town. Get the damn hawkers off the streets. Repair potholes and collect all litter always. Remove all vibandas and old buildings. Ensure a system sustaining these. That's it.

Your parents have been married for close to 30 years. You don’t see them as role models for marriage, but two social media couples who got married and divorced in less than two years are making you scared to get married. You see that you don’t have sense.

Marriage doesn’t fail because of lack of love. It fails because men don’t understand these 8 principles that guide marriage. They think its just sex and vibes forever. If you master these 8 principles… your marriage will outlast 90% of others......

Kenyan scientist debunked racist conclusions from White scientist calling Black people monkeys by proving Black people, specifically West Africans are the purest Homo Sapiens to evolve while Caucasians literally had monkey DNA. White scientists then responded with the discovery of a Ghost DNA only found in Black people to theorize Africans were not pure Homo Sapiens either. Ghanaian scientists then discovered that the ghost DNA only found in Africans is actually the next step of human evolution. The original man evolves and continues. Neanderthals will not.
Kelvin O johnson@_OKJ__

I saw a video where Neil deGrasse Tyson narrated how racist 19th century anthropologists set up human racial hierarchies with white males at the top of the evolutionary ladder and Blacks and other non whites lower down, still evolving and closer to the apes. He explained that back then, calling someone a Neanderthal was a straight up insult because Neanderthals were seen as brutish and primitive. But then in the 1990s, once genetic testing became possible, scientists discovered that Europeans carry 1 to 3% Neanderthal DNA while Africans have 0%. Suddenly, research papers started coming out praising how creative, imaginative, and skilled with tools the Neanderthals must have been. Tyson pointed out it was a complete u-turn of the Neanderthal image that began right around the time they learned this genetic information. Interesting example on how bias can shape science… and this is true mostly in anthropological research…
