I honestly feel like if they make a PvE different enough from the core experience like how they’re saying it will be I don’t see much of an issue with that. It has to offer a different type of challenge that doesn’t feel like undercutting the PVPVE, and I think Bungie can do it

How do you know that. Let the devs run their experimental queue. I swear so many folks think they know what’s gonna be best for the game but it’s the devs you have the numbers and stats. Marathon is an experiment within the extract genre. Let’s see how it plays out before making definitive statements

To be clear… I’m the middle of the road guy. I play what I want when I’m in the mood for it. A PVE mode sounds delightful when I want to experience the world of marathon, chill out and play with my wife. Regular marathon for when I’m feeling the murder. The game can exist and make both sides happy. We all don’t have to be at each others throats…

@NuCaloric @samikatplays I disagree, the Bungie brand has lost most of my support and respect. From the consistently bungled launches (Destiny 1 & 2) to taking away content I paid for in D2 and then just essentially dropping it to trend chase has made me swear off all things Bungie related.

I’ll tell you right now: If Bungie gets dissolved by Sony, I’m going to hard SOB for two days straight. And if anybody tells me “it’s not that deep”, fuck off. As a creator, a player, and at times, an influencer, this is so much more than the fate of a game or an IP. It’s more than a studio. It’s a people and a foundation built over decades. It’s livelihoods. And if it cracks, it’s those livelihoods that are fallen. I’m honestly so scared.

Creative director Julia Nardin explained that the team has the overall story direction mapped out but will keep it flexible to incorporate player feedback She stated, “We know where we want to take the story over the next few years, but I don’t want to say it’s completely ‘locked in’ because it’s important to us that our players be able to help shape it.” The backstory of what happened to Tau Ceti is “locked,” with more clues to be revealed over time as the story evolves. “It’s also important that players can jump into Marathon at any time. They’ll always be able to uncover the mysteries of Tau Ceti’s past while experiencing its present. We want every season to be a new entry point, and for new players to be able to understand what’s going on regardless of how long we’ve all been running.”
