JUCO Casper College is set to hire Arizona State’s Ty Larson as its next head coach, a source told @On3. Just 27 years old, Larson has quickly built a strong résumé. He spent the last two seasons at ASU as Special Assistant to Bobby Hurley and previously served as Director of Recruiting at Texas under Rodney Terry and Chris Beard. He began his career at Texas Tech under Beard.

@HoopsHopeCBB Coaches like Dana Altman (9-0 in the round of 64 at Oregon, but was 2-7 in the NCAAT at Creighton) or Chris Beard (6-0 in the Round of 64, but doing so at 4 different schools) strike me as wild NCAAT stats. Winning *consistently* in March is so incredibly difficult to do.

Our first double-digit seed to the Sweet 16: Texas, which upsets Gonzaga. Longhorns aren’t a Cinderella, but unbelievably impressive that they won in Dayton on a two-day turnaround, then flew cross-country to Portland and won two more by Saturday. Super difficult to do.

While TCU's offense hasn't always looked pretty this year, they've done a good job today with spacing the floor and taking care of the basketball (for the most part). A couple of bad plays have them down five at the U8. They need to do a better job of getting to the FT line.

ASU has always been a possibility — but never something I thought Bennett would seriously entertain. Plenty of (arguably better) jobs Bennett could have taken to throughout his career. But at 63 years old, now would be the time to make the move.
