Claude + MATE just controlled InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator simultaneously. Everyone's posting about connecting Claude to Figma and "Paper." MATE users have had this since 2 years. But I wanted to try the new MCP approach anyway. The result is wild.

I have a theory that node-based interfaces will win because from any screenshot you can immediately tell what’s going on, especially compared to linear prompting interfaces. This is extremely important for onboarding and adoption. The node-based stuff is largely a visual preference and kinda a gimmick (it’s no different functionally, at this point), but i’ve found it does make tutorials or client walkthroughs much easier

@luizmresende @figma @paper But I maintain some products in Figma for years with large legacy and design systems. And it’s wild that I still can’t automate things. Creating styles, updating tokens, fixing repetitive stuff via mcp

On Twitter Nick Harris asked if there is a way to export group layers in Photoshop. Yes, with MATE for Photoshop. Watch for yourself. I could have asked for a certain naming scheme or export to another location. Or only use certain groups. omata.io/mate/photoshop

As a test, I let MATE produce a poster design in "Swiss style". What's really interesting is that it starts taking snapshots and giving recommendations on the design... are we discussing design with AI now? I always said, "AI has no taste." I'm not sure if that will still hold.
