@SquawkaDugout @SamMcGuire90 Lazy analysis, no recognition of the time it takes players to adapt to the PL, the lack of firepower, Salah melting and injuries meaning constant shifting of players around to fill in the gaps. No team is going to play consistent high quality football & Slot deserves praise!

@DKingTelegraph Social media is a cesspool. The algorithm promotes the negative view and rather than just the old bore in the pub now it's everyone getting sucked into an echo chamber of emotion and entitlement. Finishing in the CL spots is a success, Klopp's average league position was 4th.

✍🏻 Goodbye to 2025/26, Liverpool’s most toxic season in a generation. There used to be a time when situations could be debated and criticisms could be listened to; now it’s simply unrelenting fury. It can’t continue telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

Why Andoni Iraola would be a perfect fit for Liverpool. He represents everything the club has always admired in modern football, the intensity, courage, development, and identity. Watch him at Bournemouth, he turned an average squad into one of the most aggressive pressing teams in the league. His football is fast, fearless, entertaining, and built on high energy, the exact style Liverpool plays. He doesn’t need a squad full of superstars to compete. He improves players, builds systems, and makes teams difficult to play against. What makes Iraola special is his adaptability. He can dominate possession, press high, attack directly, or sit compact when needed. In today’s football, managers who survive are managers who evolve. Iraola has already shown he can do that in the Premier League. Liverpool also need a manager who trusts young players, and Iraola has a strong record of developing talent instead of relying only on expensive signings. That fits perfectly with Liverpool’s recruitment model and their long-term vision. Most importantly, he has personality without ego. He focuses on football, discipline, and collective effort values. These attributes are exactly the characteristics of Liverpool style of play. He may not have the biggest name yet, but neither did Klopp when Liverpool took the role. Nobody knows Klopp. Sometimes the best appointment isn’t the obvious superstar, Bayern Munich demonstrated that. Who was kompany before Bayern came?.

Mohamed Salah is lambasted for not speaking enough, then when he does, is slammed for not doing it at the time and in the manner his critics demand. He is not a performing monkey. He has given absolutely everything he could to the game - and for just shy of a decade, to Liverpool. Why is his love for the club always questioned? Why can’t he speak as a fan of Liverpool, which he is? Salah FC or Misperception FC? substack.com/home/post/p-19…

@tibbirlfc @TheAthleticFC The only thing not right in the Liverpool dressing room is Mo Salah and his huge ego. It's all about him and not the team, he's the one who's setting the wrong tone.

You do not have to be a Hercule Poirot to recognise that Mohamed Salah’s comments about Liverpool’s wretched campaign targeted a figure he did not mention by name. For the avoidance of doubt, Salah wants you to know that under head coach Arne Slot, he thinks Liverpool have lost their identity and become an average side. Within a couple of hours, his post on Instagram was “liked” by nine Liverpool teammates, five of whom had featured in Friday’s 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa. Some of these players might claim they were merely agreeing with Salah’s assessment that improvements are needed at Liverpool but surely they are savvy enough to understand they have had a role themselves across the last 10 months? @Simon_Hughes__ dissects a messy end to a wretched campaign at Anfield. I still don’t think Liverpool will sack Arne Slot but if they do, and if Xabi Alonso is at Chelsea, who is the best, realistic option to take over at Anfield?

@DawudSebaggala @davidlynchlfc Absolutely, we had half fit players on the bench and an injury crisis. When have we actually been able to play our first choice team together. We're halfway through our rebuild 💪🏻

@davidlynchlfc Meanwhile we are obsessed with Arne slot leaving but we ignore the elephant in the room... Squad depth and quality. Villa had the luxury of calling on Sancho, Douglas Luiz and Barkley ... and they went up a gear in the second half.

Tonight summed up why so few Liverpool fans believe Arne Slot can fix this. Yes, this side is short in attack and signings will help, but they won't sort a midfield and defence that have been shambolic all season. So, without a change of head coach, how does it get better?

@ThePLDad @davidlynchlfc @empireofthekop Well said. Scoreboard journalism is the laziest. Our problems are systemic, going right back to our interrupted preseason. Add in injury crisis, new players acclimatising, relationships needing to be rebuilt across the pitch, melting players and overplayed players as a result

@davidlynchlfc A slip, a lucky deflection and a worldie are not exactly coachable. If the deflection falls kinder to Gakpo we take the lead. Injuries have tired us out and no options off the bench are fit enough. It's a vicious circle whereas villa had a fully fitted first team playing

@Matt27478972556 @DKingTelegraph Robbo has melted as fast as Salah. Quansah needs experience (and we've got a buy back lined up-for 2027. Elliot is too lightweight and not as good at 10 as either Wirtz or Sobo.

@DKingTelegraph Melted Mo "can't press, can't track back, can't beat my full back, can't score" calling for a return to heavy metal football is hilarious. At least with himself gone the club have a chance without an OAP on the wing.

@JamesPearceLFC Scoreboard journalism is the worst. We've been decimated with injuries. Our forward line is wrecked. Players melted. New players acclimatising to the intensity of the PL and new relationships on the pitch. Interrupted preseason because of Jota's death. New summer signings

Slot’s Liverpool are a sorry shell of the team they were. Can Edwards/Hughes really ignore the clamour for change? It’s growing louder by the week. So much is wrong and Slot’s reassurances that he will fix it this summer seem fanciful. (Free to read) nytimes.com/athletic/72831…

@davidlynchlfc The club are halfway through a rebuild under Slot, up to them to give him the tools he needs to replace melting players and the return to low block hoof ball adopted by so many PL teams. We'll only be able to judge him fairly if they do next season.
