My friend didn’t know how to code at all

To prove anyone can make money through apps I’m going to have my friend, who knows nothing about coding, make an app with Rork and he’s going to make $5k by the new year. If he doesn’t make at least $1k, I’ll donate $1k of my personal money to the charity of the top comments choice. The only stipulation is the challenge is void if he gives up (which I highly doubt he will). I’ll also be completely transparent on development times, marketing costs, and development costs. Shipped my app and it’s officially ready for the store.
I hand-coded the previous landing page, but today I tried @anything just to test the vibe coding.
- Ended up cutting half my coding loops. Unexpected W.
- Spent the whole afternoon vibe-coding the new landing page from zero to hero.
- Clean layout, crisp animations, tighter copy, mobile-first, lightning-fast load speed.

Day 1 of building my first app - planning to launch before the end of the year.
> got the idea after I started going to the gym - wanted to build something me and my brother can actually use.
> spent the whole day building + iterating while researching everything I’ve been studying for the past few days.
> progress so far :
> auth + onboarding fully done
> Test RevenueCat integration added (first time using it)
> meal scanning + manual meal add flows working
> workout plans + AI-generated plans based on user data (still improving outputs)
> dynamic badges + streak system leaderboard that updates daily based on meals, workouts, tasks, etc
> next fixing UI changes, review code and added small things and then added different animation mascots around the app
> started warming up IG and tiktok account took some advice from jack friks's post of how to do it, first time doing all of this should be fun
