In addiction med we spend more time in the “social history” section than most. Mainly b/c the definition & severity of a use disorder is largely determined by impact of use of a substance on the rest of life But what if we assessed every disease in that way? What would change?🧵

The ED is often the only point of contact for our country’s highest risk patients- extremes of age, disability, poverty, and disenfranchisement. Every ED in the country should have single dose vaccines for these patients. We can’t keep failing the most vulnerable Americans.
