From building resilience against drought to advancing sustainable agriculture and enhancing food security, we reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring that research does not remain on paper but becomes a driving force for real impact in our communities. Kenya’s progress depends on evidence-based policy, strategic investment, and strong partnerships between government, academia, and industry. Highlighted on creating clusters and think tanks to support policy formulation towards impactful programme for society. Together, we are shaping a future where research works for the people and powers sustainable development across the country. We were honored by the presence of the Senior Chief from Nkaimurunya Ward and the Deputy principal, Kenya Medical Training College Karen Campus, whose participation highlighted the value of collaborative partnerships in advancing sustainable conservation efforts.

Through an insightful presentation, Peter Fundi reflected on the significance of #WWD and the role of conservation in safeguarding biodiversity and securing livelihoods. His call to action encouraged stakeholders to integrate science, policy, and community engagement.

@primateresearch joined the global community in commemorating #WorldWildlifeDay by planting 3,000 indigenous and medicinal tree seedlings at Oloolua Forest to restore primate habitats and strengthen ecosystem resilience.

A study led by @KhrcGhana, @_GHSofficial and published in the Elsevier Vaccine journal has found that COVID-19 vaccines administered in Ghana reduced the risk of COVID-19-associated severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) hospitalization by about 20%, particularly within the first six months after vaccination. However, the protection declined over time. The Performance Contract was signed by the CS @MOH_Kenya @HonAdenDuale, KIPRE Board Chairperson, Prof. Josephat Mulimba and Board Member Prof. Kang'ethe.

Today, @primateresearch signed its FY2025/2026 Performance Contract, reasserting its dedication to strengthened governance, enhanced institutional performance and impactful contribution to national development priorities.

The discussions were case-based, allowing participants to share experiences and align on standard treatment approaches and referral pathways. The activity forms part of ongoing efforts to map snakebite hotspots and improve snakebite care and response in the Taita Taveta county.

The training was opened by the County Chief Officer for Health who highlighted the importance of strengthening skills among health workers. She noted that improving knowledge and facility readiness will help reduce delays in treatment and prevent avoidable deaths and disabilities

@DiscoverTTCG Department of Health Services in collaboration with @MOH_Kenya through @K_SRIC @primateresearch has launched a countywide survey to map snakebite risks and hotspots. Representing the CECM, Health Services Chief Officer Violet Mkamburi opened the training in Wundayi

She voiced that the findings will guide policy decisions, resource allocation and targeted interventions in high-risk areas. She reaffirmed the county's commitment to supporting local research, including ongoing efforts to produce antivenoms locally by @primateresearch

The @primateresearch team conveyed a message from Dr. @adinoh, Deputy Director @K_SRIC, that the project will work closely with Community Health Promoters and healthcare workers to improve first aid, guide management and raise community awareness on snakebite prevention.

Through the @K_SRIC , @primateresearch engaged communities through demonstrations of snakes of medical importance, promoting snakebite prevention and early health-seeking at health facilities, following a snakebite.
