Today, I had the privilege of joining H.E. President @WilliamsRuto, EGH, alongside fellow Principal Secretaries, Cabinet Secretaries the Head of Public Service, and other National and County leaders during the thanksgiving ceremony for the Principal Secretary for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy @fikirini_jacobs held at Mnagoni Primary School, Bamba, Kilifi County. The event was a powerful reflection of servant leadership, unity and gratitude, while also highlighting the Government’s continued commitment to empowering the youth and uplifting marginalised communities across the country.

Inclusive growth means ensuring that every voice is heard and every talent is nurtured and utilized. This afternoon, on the sidelines of the Science, Technology, Research and Innovation (STRI) Week 2026, I joined a panel discussion on aligning government frameworks to make innovation a key driver of inclusion and sustainable development. As we transform Kenya’s socio-economic landscape under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), our goal remains clear , zero exclusion. Through initiatives such as AGPO, the Government continues to expand opportunities for women, youth, and persons with disabilities by integrating them into procurement, research, and technology value chains. We are also strengthening STEM education by expanding digital hubs, innovation centres, and equipped science laboratories to rural areas, TVET institutions, and schools in ASAL regions. Our discussions further emphasized the need to move gender affirmative action beyond policy into meaningful empowerment through support for women-led technology startups and research initiatives. As a Government, we remain committed to building an inclusive innovation ecosystem that drives equity, resilience, and shared prosperity for all Kenyans.#STRI4Societyweek @nrfkenya @KENIAupdates @nacosti @SRI @Profshaukat

This afternoon, I joined my colleague, the Principal Secretary for Science, Research and Innovation, @Profshaukat in a breakout session during the Science, Technology, Research and Innovation for Society Week 2026. Alongside scientists, communicators, policymakers & innovators, we reflected on how science communication must evolve to remain accessible and relevant in today’s fast-moving digital environment, using mobile-first and citizen-centred approaches that make complex research easier to understand without losing accuracy. @STRI4Society
