@progdgaz

Sometimes I may say silly things. But that is just because of stream of consciousness.

@HaraldinChina @nonametoshow6 One thing I want to point is that the problem of caste system is not unsolvable. It is just that capital is over people in India in totality. So, politicians sometimes use social issues to distract. At fundamental level, it is capital over people problem.

Indians don't realize how crazy their caste system is. This one thinks the Hukou is comparable. 1. Hukou can be changed if a rural citizen (Nongmin) enters a large state-owned company in a city, which can provide the city hukou (Shimin) 2. There's zero social stigma to a rural person after obtaining the city hukou 3. There's zero emotional, social or other stigma against people with a rural hukou. Only the economic fact that a city-hukou owner would prefer to get married with a city-hukou owner, for the social benefit it brings 4. Nobody asks the hukou type of another Chinese, unless for administrative reasons. 5. caste is related to karma, dirtiness, spirituality, and sticks to you for your entire life.

Xi had like over 20 foreign leaders visit Beijing for a Summit, including Myanmar. This is for two reasons: 1. He can’t afford to leave cuz he’s in the power struggle for his life gutting the military 2. Due to reason 1, he’s gotta propagandize and flex China is strong and the center of the world now. So everyone comes to him!
MJ@Real_Politik101

Xi brings Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar to shore up support for the military regime. With Iran and Pakistan shaky, China needs to strengthen their remaining nearby allies. They’ve had tensions cuz Myanmar scam centers kept kidnapping Chinese tourists to force into slave labor. But can’t care about right now. China is desperate to salvage whatever they have right now. They’re constantly under Civil War so can’t let them fall right now.

Keep in mind that this person is a rich western facing media personality. Their friends will be the urban liberals of cities like Shanghai and Beijing - aka exactly the enemy population the CPC is working against

A friend in China urgently messaged me on WeChat over the weekend full of anxiety about his kid, who's in kindergarten. He despaired that it looked like the Chinese education system was so ruthless that his kid wouldn't even have to wait until 35 to be "weeded out of society." He knew of a kid who was in first grade and already irredeemably behind because "in first grade, they expect you to know third grade knowledge" and so on and so forth. I always joke (but not really) that the clearest bifurcation in US-China is in education, lol. We are giving out As here like Halloween candy and lowering admission standards so we can have "more graduates" and make everyone feel great about themselves while in China there are some surveys that have shown that double digit % elementary school children are suffering from depression because academic pressures are through the roof. China was always a tough K12 education by American standards (but now much harder than even ten years ago whereas US has gone the opposite way, but of course), so now they're just not even in the same universe. Both are so, so bad. (35 is the age at which many in China supposedly find themselves laid off because they are deemed to be suboptimal hires on the cost-competency curve.)

It’s a K shaped world Molson. The super rich get super richer, Everyone else is on that long downward K, By global standards you’re in that upper K because you’re an owner with a real asset, But compared to Elon we’re all in that bottom slope. For now anyway before the pending mega market crash.

Valuations and reported revenue numbers are so high it’s gaslighting me. Are we in hyperinflation? Are we in a bubble? Are the sales numbers exaggerated/lies? While I claw to eke out small growth or maintain sales levels, am I becoming poorer? Tough business environment from what I can see, but doesn’t seem that way for anyone else somehow.

EUROPEAN LEADERS HELD a closed-door game to see what would happen if they started a trade war with China, the FT’s Alan Beatie revealed yesterday. Beijing won. “China really has thought this through very well,” Beatie said. . SIMULATION The table-top simulation was played with people from think-tanks playing the roles of the EU Commission, the EU Council, individual European nations, plus China, the US, and Japan. As the game progressed, it became evident that the Europeans’ best bet for demanding a deal that was advantageous for themselves was by threatening to refuse to allow China to have the chipmaking machines made only by ASML of the Netherlands. But the Europeans were disunited on how powerfully they should make the threats. (Also, the coercive bullyboy US had already ordered the Dutch company to stop sales of all recent models to China, so the Chinese could only buy older machines.) The Chinese player said such European actions between trading partners were unfriendly, and they would have to retaliate by stopping the sale of rare earth elements. This worried the Europeans, who needed a constant supply for their car factories. . LIMITED TRADE WEAPONS The session ended with no resolution except for China agreeing to trade talks a couple of months later—or basically, kicking the can down the road. The Europeans had achieved nothing. The game enabled EU players to realize just how limited their trade weapons were, how powerful China’s was, and how difficult it was for Europeans to unite on anything. “But even if consensus is achieved, Europeans should learn from Donald Trump’s experience and refrain from aggressive actions likely to lead to escalation,” Beatie concluded. His suggestion: Europeans will be better off not starting a fight with the Chinese. The game was not just for fun -- Europeans are meeting at the moment to decide how they should react to China's success in manufacturing and the import-export trade.

There has always been a gap between Western coverage of the Chinese economy and what is happening on the ground as I am seeing it, but it's never been this bad. It's not just a China thing, the gap between the financial press and the daily lives of ordinary people seems unreal.

@IAmDouglasKim That is why I am confident for west not to decouple from China just so they can wage war against China. For that, they have to give up monopoly profit. This removes the justification for war.
