Summary of what happened in SN 76 this week from @dougsillars The TL;dr: An unnoticed/unannounced config change on chain was pushed in the January 8 release. Subnets can start subnet operation immediately - not a 7 day wait. So SN 76 was able to start its subnet immediately - and there were no validators running. With no validators, there was no root claim. SN 76 price went to 600,000. Once a validator was setup, price normalized. This had a number of devastating effects across the network. An issue has been filed to fix the issue. github.com/opentensor/sub…

$TAO - Following the (very possible) rug pull of #SN67 aka @Tenex_SN67, the @opentensor and @const_reborn are reviewing certain points concerning the security, established or not, of the network's 128 subnets. According to the Discord moderator, Const is experimenting with a way to indicate whether or not the code (pending confirmation on the subject) of the subnets can be considered safe. As I write these lines, these emojis are being deleted. It seems that Const is opting for a different strategy. Nevertheless, despite the blow dealt by the #SN67 fiasco, it is, as usual, reassuring to see the foundation acting so quickly. And those emojis are probably the tip of the iceberg. Great solutions are born from great mistakes. Bring back Patrol!
