@AmazonHelp TFW you pay for groceries from @AmazonFresh, the food is marked undeliverable because some vague mention of damage (to everything?!) and then when I ask for a refund to my gift card balance to reorder, they say no, refund is already processed and will take 5 days.

@clannanrothaich @TRHLofficial Common core nonsense. Both my kids went to Kumon early on and learned how to add, subtract, etc very quickly but would be marked wrong (with the right answer) because they didn’t show how they got to it “a different way.” It is a gotcha question that makes kids frustrated.

This is not a math problem. It is a "gotcha" question. You can arrive at the number 10 by taking 2 from 5 and adding it to 8, then you add the additional 2 and get 13. So on the way to 13, you hit 10. But this is not the way that anyone counts things. It has no practical application except to insure that most students will misunderstand the question. It is the kind of thing that makes kids hate math.

The child is correct.
