I’m on the living room floor, engaged in what I can only describe as a highly strategic, very serious, and completely one-sided wrestling match with my German Shepherd.
Today is her day, and I’ve been doing things with her all day.
It’s adorable.
It’s peaceful.
It’s “look at us bonding” energy.
Everything is fine.
And then it isn’t.
Somewhere in her brain, a tiny switch flips to “maximum chaos mode.”
No warning. No buildup. Just instant turbo, instant transformation.
Zoomies.
One second I have a dog. The next second I have a 70-pound furry missile made entirely of joy, questionable physics, chaos, and zero concern for human safety protocols.
Before I can even form a thought, she launches herself at me like she’s been cleared for takeoff and I am the runway.
My face? Immediately becomes a suggestion.
I attempt a tactical retreat.
This is a mistake.
I am outmaneuvered instantly by paws, enthusiasm, and what I can only assume is athletic disrespect.
Now I’m on the floor laughing so hard I’m not entirely sure if I’m injured or just emotionally defeated by a four-legged tornado.
Eventually, she powers down like nothing happened.
Just sitting there.
Proud.
Calm.
Like she didn’t just reenact a small natural disaster on my skull.
I slowly sit up and run the damage report.
Me: questionable.
Her: radiant.
The living room: lightly remodeled by chaos.
For a split second, I think we both survived something seriously dramatic.
But no. It’s just my nose, my shirt, and apparently my entire personality leaking out of my face.
I am liable to have two black eyes from this one, she got my nose good and busted my lip also. 🤦🏻♀️😂

Since you already know those posts you throw up now are from 2023, I'll add this: I've followed Col Macgregor for over 4 years and he has changed his views--and I suspect his motivations--massively over the last year or so. And I do agree he is a bit of a grifter now, perhaps exacerbated by the fact he was brought into the first Trump administration, but not the second. But no matter what, Vance's opinion of him nearly 3 years ago says nothing about Vance's understanding of geopolitics, because Col Mac was spot-on right about Ukraine back then. Many things have changed in those intervening years, with Col Mac, maybe JD and certainly regarding Iran and its nuclear ambitions.

I don’t believe Vance has a strong understanding of geopolitics and the Iran threat in particular so I don’t trust him as a key negotiator on this issue. Let me give you a concrete example. Although Vance opposed the war, he has tried to be a loyal soldier by explaining the value. But even his explanations seem really uninformed. Just last week, he tried to explain why Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon (a point I agree with unlike Realists). To this end, he presented a scenario of Iran passing along nuclear material to terrorists in America who then go on to detonate WMD suicide vests. As a red teamer on terrorism and WMD, I can tell you that ain’t it.

It seems a lot of people haven’t accepted that we are likely down to two options with Iran:
-a long, costly ground war
or
-a peace deal with a lot of crappy stuff in it

Because he' likely following his long-displayed principle of "shitpost as required". Everyone has seen the saying about Trump "take him seriously, but not literally". I wouldn't be surprised if he's posting that intentionally to continue to pitch one Iranian element against another.
