@tmikov The AI is a probabilistic tool. Engineering is about precision. There is no room for errors. Vibe coding increases the output but the quality is low. You need countless iterations and in depth analysis to get it to the point where it is usable

@hamptonism The AI is just a probabilistic tool which helps you to iterate faster. Engineering is about precision work, no room for errors. So far the AI revolution created more startups and unlocked very old projects which were too expensive to rewrite. This means more work for engineers

I am always surprised that Hermes is virtually unknown outside of React Native, particularly in the embedded space. Hermes is faster than the existing "embedded" JS engines (that I am aware of), has better startup and is smaller than the "big duo". On its face, it should at least be part of the conversation. These are some of the possible reasons I can think of: - We don't have documentation outside of what RN provides. - JSI is heavily C++-based, making it seem not very "embedded-friendly". - Missing ES6+ features (classes, async generators). Fortunately the last two will be addressed soon, when Static Hermes becomes the default version of Hermes.
