I tried to buy a Mac Studio this week. Wanted to run a 70B model locally. 128GB Mac Studio was the pick. Apple Store said 'Available'. Except it's not. Every config above 24GB. Unavailable. Every country I checked. Apple's memory suppliers are filling datacenter orders first. $650B committed this year. The Macs are last in line. Waiting for WWDC in June. M5 Ultra. If it ships. Meanwhile, renting an H100 in Toronto for $2.99/hr. My model. My jurisdiction. My stack. The 'just buy a Mac Mini' AI era lasted about a year. Can't own your AI when you can't buy the hardware.
