Looks like I'm going to have some competition. Bambu Lab has decided to enter the Filament Painting arena. Competition is good for consumers most of the time. It will be interesting to see what they bring. And in case there was any confusion, their first few questions on the beta application make it clear it's directly competing with HueForge.

@hueforge Oh. I started using it in the past 2 or 3 weeks so don’t know what it was like before. But honestly it lacks intuitiveness and left me feeling quite frustrated at times. I love the end print result tho, just feels like the journey could have been smoother 😊

@JaredDMcCluskey Yeah i get what you’re saying but WebGPU + compute shaders are starting to make more things possible. PlayCanvas is another option if you need more of a game engine in the web

@rahimny_ It's simply rendering focused. You need a full-blown game engine for the internet to fully move from XY to XYZ

Is Three.js + WebGPU going to be the engine for the next generation of the web? Feels like we’re shifting from a document web to an experience web. 3D, AR, spatial interfaces - all native in the browser 👀

@TheOneRavenous I feel like it depends on how well other technologies get adopted? Seamless augmented reality still isn’t a thing, I can imagine a world where threejs plays an important role in that space.

@RorySMBsnoogins @Padierfind Illustration is almost always drawing for hire, it's a commercial activity someone who is able to draw does as a service. As such, yes, it isn't a form of Art but commerce. Source: college friends who are professional illustrators, some of them also make art.
