@zarkokorica @0xReflection I’m afraid that’s the whole agenda. Whichever way this plays out, this account will cite an appropriate post and claim that they called the move.

@TheBigCycleGame Are you arguing that a fundamentally weaker employment and macro backdrop would somehow be bullish for Bitcoin? It would certainly make 2026 different from previous midterm years but not in a positive way.

“Always.” Based on what - three midterm years under historically unique QE conditions that never experienced the end of a Business Cycle or a recession? Narrative may follow price. But price also follows macro. And macro has fundamentally changed. 2014, 2018, 2022 - all midterm years where the economy was functioning. Jobs at 200-500k/month. No recession signals. 2026: Jobs at 60K/month average. 13 consecutive months of downward job revisions - something that has never happened outside of a recession. Job creation levels where historically, recessions were already running. “Always” assumes the pattern holds under all conditions. But Bitcoin has never experienced what comes next. Maybe midterm years are bearish for Bitcoin. Or maybe this time, the macro backdrop creates an entirely different scenario - one that “always” hasn’t been tested against yet.
Benjamin Cowen@benjamincowen

Midterm years are always bearish for Bitcoin. You can try and find plenty of reasons why, but narrative follows price.

@Bobby_1111888 Truth is no one knows but it’s an easier bet to believe that previous patterns will repeat, hence the majority thesis that more downside awaits. The burden of proof necessarily lies with those that believe this time will be different.

I don’t claim to know everything, but one thing I do know is that markets may rhyme, but they rarely deliver exact carbon copies of the past. What I’m seeing right now is a majority leaning toward a repeat of 2022, expecting the same playbook to unfold. All I can say is that I was there, I lived through every moment of it alongside many of you, and, in my opinion, this isn’t going to play out the same way it did four years ago. Take that for what it’s worth. Cheers. ⚒️⚒️⚒️

Many are reading W. Bush’s Presidents’ Day message as a subtle swipe at Trump, after he praised George Washington’s humility, respect for democratic norms and willingness to relinquish power.

@QuintenFrancois This is a measure of which generation controls wealth. Boomers who have the highest net worth understand and prefer gold especially during uncertain economic and political times like the present, and this is reflected in the dominance of gold over its digital counterpart.

When Bitcoin is $1M per coin, do you think it will have been a good decision to not buy Bitcoin at $69,000 because you thought it had to go to $58,000 because some 23 year old chart squiggler with zero real word experience said so?

@bradmillscan @BitcoinArchive Equities haven’t even turned bearish yet. BTC typically leads SPX into bear markets. Then everything goes risk off.

@mikealfred As the saying goes, the market is always right. BTC is valued as a risk asset, not the place to park wealth given the significant headwinds from economic and political uncertainty. Precious metals are seen as a safe haven in the same environment, hence the disparity.

I stayed up all night and re-underwrote Bitcoin using 46 different methods. The process was arduous but worth it. The average result implies that Bitcoin should be worth approximately $172,000 right now, an undervaluation of 95%. The discrepancy between BTC and metals is extreme.

Jerome Powell has 3 meetings left as Fed Chair: Jan 28, Mar 18, Apr 29. Markets now see zero rate cuts in those meetings. The attacks will only escalate, but the data doesn't justify easing. Powell should hold the line. Video: youtube.com/watch?v=OzwZFw…
