@ReginaDo If only at some point you were an elected TD and indeed a Minister in Government, then you could have done something about this, other than token vibe tweets 🙄🥱

@EO_Halloran @Polito_loco @fiannafailparty @FineGael "We had hospital bed problems 20 years ago" Yeah that's the actual point. Succession of governments haven't moved the needle in core areas in a meaningful way €43.4bn in taxes in 2005, it was €105.7bn last year, down from €126bn the previous year Have higher expectations

@Polito_loco @fiannafailparty @FineGael That's because that's all you ever look at on your feed We have far more good roads today than 20 years. We had hospital bed problems 20 years ago. We had foreign aid 20 years ago We didn't have Twitter and 24/7 news access 20 years

You know, I've been thinking a lot lately what is it @fiannafailparty and @FineGael actually do? What is it they provide to Irish society? Twenty years ago I can recall various projects in the pipeline from hospitals, DART upgrades, Luas, houses flying up, a general sense of moving somewhat in the right direction. All I see daily now is non-stop profligation of our taxes given to Ukraine, Gaza, and every newly arrived "refugees" to house them in guesthouses, hotels, and now given houses as per yesterday's story from Kildare. We've Irish people dying on streets. Young adults stuck at home with parents and mass emigrating. Thousands stuck on hospital wait lists. Cancer patients having to beg for the bare minimum of tax relief they are due. Elderly and disabled not even given winter allowance to keep themselves warm. And now they can't even be arsed to fund repairs of potholes and drain cleaning. And when you point out the disparity in treatment of native Irish vs. newly arrived non-nationals, you are vehemently attacked by their dogs as far right and racist, whilst those in power simply turn off comments on the electorate. Ireland rapidly needs change.

Truly disturbing. Minister of State at the Department of Finance Robert Troy, announces a plot of land at an Irish cemetery will be handed over to Muslims. We're watching Catholic Ireland disappear before our eyes.

@Mobyhaque1 Fantastic player, but we need leadership in the middle next season, and I'd say he's a few years short of that role; absolutely can do it, just not yet

@griptmedia Go further-what are these Governments major achievements of the last 50 years? We have "maintenance" Governments, they tweak the dials on the things that have always been there, no innovation, no vision of what Ireland could be, just copy last year's budget & update a few figures

“That’s fundamentally wrong”: Taoiseach Micheál Martin says he “rejects” the premise of a recent Business Post article which claimed that Ireland has squandered much of its corporate tax surge and has few long-term benefits to show for it.

@SwedishRumble Arsenal don't give me a lot of ball though, only when he went off did they start to whip it in a bit. He occupied Virg and Konate all day & Zubimendis chance comes from him dragging Virg outside the box, creating the space. Agree he needs to do more but Arsenal need to supply him

A lot of talk about Gyökeres. I’ve see him on and off for a very long time. He doesn’t look fit at all. No explosiveness or pace. Was also worthless for Sweden in the qualification games earlier this season. It doesn’t quite add up — because it’s one thing if he wasn’t fit in August and spent a couple of months catching up. But it’s December now. I don’t know — but the eye test clearly says that he isn’t fit.

@SamJDean This should neither be down played nor ignored, Arsenal put high quality & high volume ball into the box & it is hugely effective There is more than one way to play football & while everyone has tried to copy Pep football, Arsenal have gone another way, like it or not, it works

I am tired of seeing sweeping claims on this platform to the effect that Ireland is a crime-ridden hellhole when in fact crime rates are actually down and Ireland has one of the lowest levels of serious crime in Europe.
Dan O'Brien@danobrien20

Ireland's murder rate has almost halved in a decade and is one of the lowest in Europe. While there can be downsides to high levels of immigration, the claim that serious crime rates have increased as a result of immigration in Ireland is not supported by fact.

@BillyKelleherEU Let's talk in mid 2027 when your immigration pact has been implemented for a full year; with our overinflated GDP based on the large multinational tax avoidance schemes, we'll see where public opinion sits. My guess is it ain't going to be pretty

Just a reminder for the people who advocate for Ireland to leave EU. There’s simply no upside to #Brexit, and UK has suffered real economic damage. The idea that Ireland would prosper by leaving EU is laughable and irresponsible. There’s no sunny uplands when you go it alone.
Tris Osborne MP@TrisOsborneMP

New research from Stanford, the Bank of England, and King’s College London finds Brexit has hit the UK hard: ⤵️GDP: Down 6–8% since the referendum 👉roughly £2,000 per person per year lost. ⤵️Investment: Down 12–18%, a drag that compounds over time. ⤵️Employment & Productivity: Each down 3–4%.

Don't get me wrong, like the man & zero axe to grind with him but it is a ceremonial position, for which you have a base pay of €250k, a budget of €310k to do as you please & lord knows the pension
