Their models are way more efficient compute wise, as they invested heavily in R&D. MoE Design, Good Sparse Attention, Engrams and their Hyper-Connections to make residuals jump multiple layers at once pay off. Their API performance for Flash is amazing if you compare it to Sonnet.

Christ, how much compute does @deepseek_ai have? I literally built an app with a total of 300+ files and I barely spent a $1. If flabbergasted was a person, I would be it right now!
