Earlier this year we announced AI Inbox in @Gmail to help you better manage and stay on top of your inbox by intelligently prioritizing your most important updates and time-sensitive tasks securely. At #GoogleIO we shared our latest updates to AI Inbox, including: 📧 AI Inbox will generate personalized draft replies so you can review and respond in seconds. 📋 Managing your to-do list in a helpful homebase screen. Mark individual tasks done, dismiss unhelpful suggestions, and mark emails read in a single click. 📂 When you need to review a Google Doc, Sheet or Slide, the relevant link is surfaced right next to your to-do item.

JUST IN: Uber’s COO says heavy AI spending is getting harder to justify, as higher token usage fails to show a clear payoff in consumer features.

How bout just a flat tax… 10%. You make $100k you pay $10k, this nurse would pay $7.5k. You make $1M you pay $100,000. You make $100M you pay $10,000,000. There are no deductions, no loopholes, no tax code. The problem is people can gamify these brackets, tax codes, live on welfare forever, etc. to pay nothing. Simplification is the way. Everyone pays 10% regardless. No funky math, no complex tax returns. Quite literally you made X okay what’s 10% of X and you owe that April 15th. Businesses should function the exact same way. Flat tax. It’s 30% and the only incentive is if at least 70% of your employees are American, working here in America, then you pay a flat 15%. No IRS, no shortage of jobs, everyone plays by same rules. Not if you have fancy lawyers and a ton of money.

NAILED IT: Jeff Bezos: “A nurse in Queens who makes $75K a year pays more than $12K a year in taxes. Does that really make sense?” “So people talk about making the tax system more progressive. How about we start by having the nurse in Queens NOT pay taxes? At all!” “Why is a nurse in Queens who makes $75K a year paying more than $1K a month in taxes?” “That’s $1K a month that could help with rent or groceries or anything.” “And by the way, do you know what that all adds up to? The bottom half of income earners in this country pay only 3% of the taxes. It’s only 3%.” “We can find 3%. So we don’t have... it’s a small amount of money for the government. You know that. And the more I thought about it, to me, it’s kind of absurd that we’re doing this.” “We shouldn’t be asking this nurse in Queens to send money to Washington — they should be sending her an apology. It really makes no sense.” Exactly!

This is one of those design / marketing moments where I just scratch my head. There are huge readability & brand issues. - Different color green - The green is too dark against the black - disco ball texture looks pixelated on a tiny phone screen A kinda dumb mistake.

I genuinely don’t understand the outrage over Spotify’s temporary app icon. A 20-year anniversary is exactly when a company should be allowed to do something playful and different. The default will be back soon.

NEW: Footage shows the moment an individual walked on the Denver airport runway and stood in front of a Frontier Airlines jet. Authorities say the person scaled a fence about two minutes before being struck on the runway. The collision caused an engine fire, and the pilot was forced to stop the plane from taking off. "Runway 17L is closed. I do have limbs on the runway. I believe the aircraft struck an individual," a first responder reportedly said. ABC News reports that the person was "at least partially consumed" by the engine. 12 people on board were injured, and five were taken to the hospital.

@feelsdesperate I always saw billionaires as an inflation sink, if they eat up a lot of the printed money and hold it or spend it on stuff normal people cannot afford, low inflation pressure, until the fed prints 6 trillion dollars, then well they can’t help.

When it comes to billionaires my take is the opposite of Leftists: Billionaires SHOULD consume all their wealth: megayachts, English castles, mountains of cocaine, own a dozen homes and 30 cars - do it! Spend it all! The worst thing that can happen is for a billionaire to try to ‘do good in the world’ and shovel money to NGOs for some cause they get excited about. That’s the worst thing that can happen. Charitable donations should be taxed at 500%. A billionaire’s lavish lifestyle poses no threat to me but their misguided ‘good intent’ is absolutely cancerous and potentially civilization ending.

Today is a hard day. I shared this note with the @linear team today: We’ve made the difficult decision to increase our workforce. This is not a cost-cutting exercise or a reflection of anyone’s performance. We’re simply reimagining every role for the agentic AI era. We’re hiring. We’re sorry about that.
