@film_girl I'm a relatively casual observer but the planning / economics of this console gen makes no sense to me. I assume they expect to move a ton of consoles when GTA6 releases and they don't think a price hike will affect that.

Tim owns the company. It's like Elon obliterating Twitter's revenue and not being held accountable for it because it's privately owned
if you own the company you can do whatever you want
but its not like Tim is destroying the company. they spent a few years investing in efforts they HOPED would pay off, but never did. now they're refocusing on their core Fortnite base, so the company necessarily needs to be smaller

Maybe it's just me, but if a company is not doing well, and it's clearly a decision-making problem, would you not first replace the leadership and not the artists and engineers?
I mean, if a sports team is losing a lot in a row, you get rid of the head coach, not of all the players? No?

@ray_at_work The 'friends' statement wasn't revealing a conspiracy to rig against the defendant lol, it was the guy noting that such rude & contemptuous behavior was going over very badly. The judge was still doing the defendant a solid when he objected (and got interrupted by a gigatantrum)

Well that answer is different: adults used to stop playing games because the feedback system hadn’t yet grown in complexity to interest adult brains. It’s less true today than it was 20-30 years ago, and I suspect you’re underestimating how many adults play games and you’re probably underestimating the depth of skill required, and the enjoyment that comes from that. Fortnite rewards forethought and response time and defense and offense, fun stuff for adults
