@BarrettSallee It's so weird how nobody ever says after they get it on 4th down "if they would have kicked like I said, they would have had 4 less points and lost the game".

@CFBNerds There were :03 on the clock when he was tackled so the clock stopped. But wouldn't there be an auto 10 second run off if he declined? Did he not know the rule and think they would be able to snap the ball with :03 from where Oregon WR was tackled?

Had Texas Tech declined the hold the half was over. Instead the accepted it and Oregon knee’d it out. But they could have just as easily run a Hail Mary. Why in the world don’t you decline it there?

Why would you EVER give the opposing offense an extra untimed down to end the half? Someone? Anyone? What is Texas Tech doing???

@CFBNerds But Memphis beat Arky (barely). The little guy can bring down big bad SEC! Wish these teams could take down a big team but not possible. I could name, easily, 40 P4 teams I bet on straight up vs JMU. Riddick keeps saying speed. It is. But it's the lines even more

This playoff system was designed for the college football people *wished* we have. But football isn't basketball, and you can't wishcast a team who lost to Ole Miss 45-10 in the regular season into suddenly beating them in a rematch. It isn't built for the sport we *do* have.

The irony of forced inclusion of g5 teams, is that the casuals who demanded it because it’d be fun and neat to see new logos, are going to be the first to tune out because of blowouts And the only folks watching will be the die hards who told them it was a bad idea

@AriWasserman Uh oh. Is ND going to pull itself from the ACC in non football sports? Whatever will the ACC do? And if that relationship is tarnished, who will ND play its soft football schedule against? Add more bottom feeder Big 10 schools?

@CFBNerds They're not alone. There are 15 teams that are in the same position if randomly hosted. As for TV ratings, there seem to be many other schools that are as or more watched than ND. I don't understand the argument of "the pull of ND" is a reason to have them in a playoff.

@wesruckerTBA Yes, all that makes sense....until you realize that the damage done to our team was in the middle of the field. It wasn't Hood or Redmond. Don't pin it on them. They had terrific seasons.

That's not to disrespect Colton Hood or Ty Redmond. Hood will be a pro as soon as next season, and Redmond will be a pro in two or three years. But if you can't understand the impact of losing McCoy AND Gibson for an entire season, you and I can't have a logical discussion.

@AriWasserman Which SEC team should they get in ahead of? It's not any other conf that is taking their spot. SEC is in a dogfight to get 5 in. Or are you saying Texas should get in ahead of ND? Cause that's the only other option

Texas is being punished for Florida. It's true. But if it played Rice and not Ohio State, then 10-2 with that resume with the Florida loss is in. So, in reality, regardless of the verbal gymnastics people want to play, the Longhorns are being penalized for playing Ohio State because they didn't have to.
Jaime Gutierrez 🌵@JaimeGtz78

@AriWasserman All those 4/5 star players they have and need a weaker schedule to win games and make the playoffs 😂. It's not the loss to Ohio State it's the loss to Florida plus taken OT to beat Kentucky/Mississippi State smh .

@slmandel Over who? If SEC favs win today, over OU? Thats the only possibility. SEC won't get 6 teams. Fight to even get 5. Over aTm? No UGA? No Bama? No Ole Miss? No OU? That's the only plausible argument Best case for SEC: 3 Big 10 ND 1 Big 12 1 ACC 1 G5

Texas is going to be the most interesting test of the selection committee era. The commissioners who founded it 12 years ago were hoping they’d reward big wins and SOS more than polls. But so far they’ve mostly still ordered the teams by # of losses and who you lost to.

In my opinion, interim coach Mike Kafka eliminated himself from contention to be Giants coach next year when he decided to go for it on fourth and goal from Lions 6 up 27-24 with about 3 minutes left. Winston threw incomplete, Lions tied it on 59 FG and won in OT. How can you not kick FG to go up 6 and force Lions to get TD? Game management is top priority and despite Kafka's creative play calling today, he made an indefensible decision that could have cost the game. Giants have blown 5 double digit leads in their 10 losses, three of them in the fourth quarter, all on the road.

@SethWalder Curious what the model says if Dallas is down 1 at that point. Is the % similar given they can score and get the 2 to go up 7? Or because they're down 1, does it say to kick the FG and take the lead?

@clowfb I think it more hinges on whether or not the playoff committee takes multiple teams from Big 12 or ACC. Which is iffy right now

My non-expert analysis is that SEC’s chances of landing five teams in the playoff hinge on Notre Dame and whether the Irish would get in at 10-2. Irish’s toughest remaining game appears to be at Pitt on Nov. 15. Hard to see a scenario where SEC doesn’t get at least four this year.

@titansfilmroom The beat is the pulse of the fanbase. I would say there's plenty of hostility from the fanbase. Not towards the rest of the season but why was Callahan retained to start the year with a #1 pick? Could they not see this last year? If not, how can fanbase be confident in new hire?

The tone from Titans media in the Brinker/Borgonzi press conference was very confusing to me. All due respect to the Titans beat, but why are you grilling Brinker as if firing Callahan wasn't obviously a necessary move? We can all see how bad the team is. It's all any of us have talked about for MONTHS. We've all called for this move to happen. Frankly, it should've happened in January. And no one is expecting the team to get markedly better RIGHT NOW. Obviously Mike McCoy is a temporary band-aid at best. Expectations for improvement remain extremely low. But Callahan could not be allowed to continue in his role regardless of how much instant improvement this will create. Just felt unnecessarily hostile IMO. But maybe that's why I'm on the couch and they're at the presser 🤷‍♂️

@PaulKuharskyNFL why should the fans feel confident in Brinker and Borganzi making the hire when they thought it was a good idea to start the season and entrust Cam's development to Callahan?

@1045TheZone @BuckReising The issue about Callahan's immediate job status should be focused on solely one thing...Cam Ward. The best thing for the Titans is what's best for Cam. He is regressing under Callahan. You MUST, for Cam's future well being, stop current staff from ruining him

@RamonAndWill @1045TheZone The fact that you guys are asking "what kind of changes can you make on the fly" sums up the Titans. The easy answer when Borganzi was brought on was to get a new coaching staff. This is classic Titans. They are not only wasting a year of Cam but making him worse.
