SF Bro who bet on himself with his own cash right before fast roping onto a foreign president’s roof and stealing him like a snickers bar from a gas station is going to do more time than all of the Somali fraudsters who stole $18bn from Minnesota combined. Bookmark this.

Yeah, that spec ops soldier shouldn’t have insider bet. But man is tough to see a veteran get the book thrown at him while DC politicians, appointees, and staffers do this stuff with impunity. Just doesn’t seem fair.

NYT frames this as if USAID employees had a quasi-property right to high-paying, taxpayer-funded jobs. In reality, this tells a darker story—we spent half-a-century debt-financing a managerial class of Leftists whose only qualifications were ideological.

It's debunking time! Today, it's Sen. Tom Cotton's absurd argument in favor of government banning marijuana. the only thing he said that is true is that weed is stronger today than it was decades ago. The rest is bullshit. Lie #1: Let's start with the psychosis claim, which is a favorite among prohibitionists. Evidence does show an increase in the likelihood of psychosis in HEAVY marijuana users. We're talking people who use high-potency products every day. About one in 200 cannabis users experience psychotic symptoms over their lifetimes. This amounts to 0.5 percent of users. Hardly as common as Cotton suggests. Even further, the risk is highest among those who already have mental health problems. Lie #2: Cannabis use causes "anti-social" behavior. There is no evidence proving this. In fact, the vast majority of those who use cannabis don't commit violent or property crimes. Alcohol is far more associated with violent crime than cannabis. Lie #3: Fatal car accidents. In some states that legalized marijuana, there was a slight increase in accidents. In others, this was not the case. There are mixed results on this...definitely not enough proof ot assume that legalizing cannabis automatically leads to sharp increases in traffic fatalities. Lie #4: Arkansans don't want easier access to marijuana. A 2022 poll showed 53.5% of Arkansas adults favor legalizing marijuana for those 21 or older. 32 percent want it legal for medical use. Only 10.5% want it illegal for all uses. Also, it's worth noting that Tom Cotton has accepted tens of thousands of dollars from the pharmaceutical, alcohol, and tobacco industries over his career, according to OpenSecrets x.com/SenTomCotton/s…

OCDA Todd Spitzer
OCDA Todd Spitzer@OCDAToddSpitzer·
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer is warning parents they could be charged with crimes if they allow their children to illegally ride e-Motorcycles and e-Bikes. Since January, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office has filed child endangerment charges against three parents for allowing their children to illegally ride E-motorcycles, including against a Yorba Linda father whose 12-year-old son was critically injured after he ran a red light and was hit by a car while riding an E-motorcycle which had been modified to go up to 60 miles per hour, after the boy and his father had been warned about the dangers of children riding E-motorcycles illegally. He faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison if convicted on all counts. Tommi Jo Mejer, 50, of Aliso Viejo, has been charged in connection with a crash involving her 14-year-old son who was illegally riding an E-motorcycle when he hit and critically injured an 81-year-old Vietnam veteran in Lake Forest last week. Mejer has been charged with one felony count of child endangerment, one felony count of accessory after the fact to a crime, one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one misdemeanor count of loaning a motor vehicle to an unlicensed driver, and one misdemeanor count of providing false information to a peace officer. She faces a maximum sentence of six years and eight months in state prison if convicted on all counts. District Attorney Spitzer joined @KTLA's @ChipYost to talk about holding parents accountable when they allow their child to illegally ride e-bikes and E-motorcycles.

@wbridgefa As a marketing MBA I'm here to tell you: Marketing MBAs have fucked up a lot of our culture and society squeezing the Last marginal dime out of everything. I knew this when I was in night biz school and had to pay $14 (in 2006) for a sandwich in the school cafeteria.
