@Merseysidersp 6 points seems a bit lenient. I think a short period ban would be more appropriate. Though some 20mph limits seem to exist in inappropriate places, I still obey them. The way to oppose bad speed limits is to vote for council candidates who pledge to review such limits.

£660 fine and 6 points added to their licence. This driver was travelling at 45mph in a 20mph area. A speed chosen, not a mistake. The court outcome reflects the seriousness of that decision. Speed limits exist to protect everyone who uses our roads, especially in areas where people live, walk and cycle. Those who choose to ignore them can expect to hear from us. #ProjectRoadSafe #SafeSpeeds @MerseyPolice @MerPolTraffic

45mph in a 20mph limit... Not acceptable. The driver can expect a letter from our Safer Roads Unit imminently followed by notice of a court hearing. #SafeSpeeds #SafetyFirs #SlowDown

@akafaceUS The cyclist for thinking he has right of way over tax, insurance and MOT paying motorists. You don't call a motorway a cycleway do you. They want rights, pay for all the things motorists have to pay for. Overpriveliged babies

@IQ21023290 @lukeisandberg @MikeyCycling I see you're still struggling with the "fair share" element. Cycling already contributes ~£400m a year. 1) Nobody's paid "road tax" since 1930s 2) Cycling's so low risk, insurance is given away 3) Unlike cars, bicycles are simple so the average rider can check it's roadworthy

@lukeisandberg @MikeyCycling What are they paying road tax no, insurance no, MOT no, They pay council tax but so does the motorist so what exactly are cyclists paying more of ??

Drivers are heavily subsidised, and cyclists pay more than their fair share towards the roads. Bicycles are not 2 tonne cars, and have different rules. Drivers are more lawbreaking than cyclists.

@re_parent @sobraon1846 @DrChrisParry 1. The Americans generally have a different attitude around weaponry but that's de minimis. 2. Too many casualties because the UK had a government in the 2000s that kept committing the British army to perform missions that it was not remotely prepared to properly fund & resource.

@re_parent @sobraon1846 @DrChrisParry 2 of 2 Despite excellent troops (superb special forces which they still covet to use with their own critical mass), the post-Cold War British Army is too hollowed-out with too few troops too poorly resourced too spread out defending too many outposts taking tor many casualties.

@sobraon1846 @DrChrisParry 1. Trump conflated issues on top of his usual blunderbuss thinking aloud & imprecise language. 2. We know which NATO countries he had in mind on Fox. 3. There's a separate US issue with the British Army's performance in Afghanistan but not to do with the troops or holding back.

@MadDogBrit @timmiejj @Bricktop_NAFO Where did Trump state that he was only talking about *some* of the countries in NATO? Did I miss that comment, if I didn't miss anything, then you definitely are trying to move the goalposts?

@FeloniousDems @SenMarkey Hold on, you didn't even know why Denmark controlled Greenland, now you're equating Denmark to a dictator responsible for human rights violations and (allegedly) drug trafficking? What evidence to you have for this connection?

@re_parent @SenMarkey Thank you. Very informative. So Greenland is a welfare state of Denmark. Greenland wants independence, but only if Denmark continues the welfare. Denmark, though posturing otherwise, might be sitting in the bird seat to make a lucrative deal with the USA. or take a Maduro chance.

Trump wants to be the Tariff King but he’s nothing more than a tax troll. Imposing tariffs on our allies if they don’t hand over Greenland? Enough is enough.

This isn't satire. No jokes. This is the President of the United States telling Norway that he's going to take Greenland from Denmark because Norway didn't give him a peace prize. This isn't Orange Man Bad. This is Orange Man Mad.

@CoachEric65 @AntonioTweets2 @maria48308 Wind energy has experienced explosive growth in the U.S. over the past decade, establishing itself as a cornerstone of the renewable energy landscape. As of 2025, data indicates that approximately 120,000 wind turbines are operational across the country. We are the best

@AntonioTweets2 @maria48308 The amount of energy it takes to make a wind turbine doesn’t produce enough electricity to offset its own emissions footprint. How about the amount of petroleum it takes to grease it, service it and winterize it? Whats the lifespan 15/20 years before they are scrap and then what

@returnofthemc11 1) Motorists do pollute 2) Lower speed limits don't necessarily increase commuting times, but they do reduce braking (with its harmful particulates) 3) Lowering speeds does save lives 4) Cycling on footways is illegal 5) Cycling is often faster than driving in rush hours 🤷‍♀️

Cyclist twitter is perhaps the dumbest, self aggrandizing group even when you want to help them they cant see past their own self absorbed virtue signalling to make the distinction. Cyclist: motorists pollute so we need to cycle Also cyclists: lets lower the speed limit (slowing cars which keeps them polluting for longer) Also cyclists: by lowering the speed limit we save lives Me: cycle on the paths that will also save lives. Win for you guys, win for motorist who maintains speed to get home faster, win for environment as cars not burning fuel any longer duration of time. Cyclist twitter: muh citations! 😂😂😂

@LaurenceTheBird @ciarancannon @irishexaminer 1) Where have cyclists stated that they are "seeking parity of esteem"? 2) Everyone contributes to the upkeep of the roads, not just motorways, I don't think you know how roads are funded. 3) Can you cite an example of unrecoverable losses from a cyclist incident?

@whaler_michael @MbarkCherguia Grok is a "he"? If a person makes a manoeuvre on the roads, that is against the Highway Code which exists for safety, then it is not unforeseen that it can cause harm. Causing issues with other road users is an expected outcome of driving on the wrong side of the road. 🤷‍♀️

Here is Grok's response you can continue the debate with him- I am going to bed - Nighty night - Grok says -Yes, the incident depicted in the video from that X post appears to be a genuine traffic accident at a UK road junction. It involves a collision between a cyclist and a turning BMW, likely due to visibility issues or misjudgment rather than intent, based on the footage and context. While fault can be debated (as noted in my previous analysis), it qualifies as an accident under common definitions—an unforeseen event causing harm.
