it feels jarring to play a DS game on emulator that is touch screen heavy and you have to swap from controller to mouse for basic things

@feydemon Warrior and Paladin by a huge margin, PLD for things you can't nuke out of existence in the opener, WAR for things you can. For most survivable DPS it's probably Samurai or Red Mage

what do you guys think the most independent class is for FFXIV like which one has the most survivability/ability to solo stuff (besides blue mage)

@viperwave I made a slushy that was just lime and they said the same shit they say if you make any other slushy that doesn't get the achievement. Also allegedly you get the achievement if you just put every flavor in because they couldn't be assed to add a check for the wrong flavors in it

I think a lot of gamers brains sadly calcified in 2014 so theyre still stuck talking about how Mixtape isnt a real game or isnt art when when the real issue is that Ive never played a game that desperate to be liked. Its hitting every button it can to try and get you to like it.

I dont think she is evil or even fully antagonistic to us but her gentle tone contrasted by her showing off her ascian abilities was in its own way a subtle threat. While very much still a "theater kid" like the other ascians, she has a subtlety to her i find interesting

By the way, as someone who works in games and uses Steam review numbers as an indicator of sales - Mixtape has 1,500+ Steam reviews in 3 days. Trust me, the game is selling very well lol. The discourse is not impacting it. If anything, it's helping its sales.

@patrickklepek I do think there are journalists that genuinely enjoy the game out there I just think they have a very shallow experience with the medium, like most corporate journalists in the field do.

Mixtape—which I loved, because I’m a paid off journalist—is both producing a lot of interesting discourse (90s exhaustion, assumptions about “collective” experiences, etc.) and making the absolute worst people online extremely mad. Helluva game.

@king_of_games34 Made worse actually, but it never mattered because being able to pay through Steam rather than Square Enix's shitty new storefront crysta bullshit more than offset that.

"Mixtape isn't an indie game because it has licensed music" You fucking idiots. Beethoven & Dinosaur's first game, The Artful Escape, was a big hit for an indie (and it won a BAFTA). It's estimated to have pulled in about $3M from Steam alone, and that's not counting the subsidized licensing deals they got from Game Pass and console sales; which obviously spiked after the awards it won. They're a small developer. Your local supermarket employs more people than they do. They also got assistance from VicScreen, which is the government of Victoria agency that assists with movies, shows, and (yes) games. So a small developer's debut game is a big hit, they get money from that, and then they get assistance from their local government for more funding. There's no conspiracy here. You're just dumbasses.
